BE THAT BAD IN A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME ??????? blown 2 calls on the 3rd strike on gator hitters thru 3 innings !!!! Not even borderline calls , 2 balls clearly more than the width of the ball off the plate. 1st one was 8 inches off. Sad . The best umps can't be that poor. Wash girl will throw a no-no or 1 hitter if this zone stays. ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGG MD

I've seen this lady ump numerous times. She always seems to do a very good job and I can understand why she was chosen to ump this game. I did see the two pitches you are referring to however and I agree, neither one of them appeared to be anywhere near a strike. However, Florida has shot themselves in the foot so far this game and the Washington pitcher looks better than the Florida pitcher overall so far. Hopefully Florida gets back in this game. They have four more at-bats left in this game.

now the 1st base blue blows a call on a double play that would have ended the inning. wash goes on to score at least 2 after the 3rd out was recorded. not going to be a good day to be a gator fan

The center field camera is at an angle. Pitches that look off the plate could be good strikes-- especially cutting across from the right hand of the pitcher to the left side of the plate. Washington is the better team. The pitcher is basically a professional-- the best in the country of Canada and obviously a mismatch with the Florida hitters. This will be a quick sweep. Florida has a good pitcher, but she has that irritating superstition of having to have her ponytail over her left shoulder before she pitches and it is obviously angering the Huskies' hitters.

The same Washington team that gave up 9 to Georgia ? Nelson struggled with command early , pitched herself into trouble. Florida got 2 outs taken from them in the 1st 3 innings. Not a good combo. But Florida looks hypnotized at the plate --they just watch middle of the plate strikes go by , then get carved up after they fall behind in the count. home plate blue allowed Laurie to get into a comfort zone.

What the heck does it matter that the UMP "allegedly" blew (2) calls from behind the plate, if Florida wouldn't swing at 30MPH watermelons right now. SLow Mo showed girl was safe at 1st on double play and Florida played like they were the heir to the throne. I'll root for Pac-10 over SEC anyday. I didn't join until the 4th inning because, once again, I seem to have forgotten I am living on Pacific time and games start at 5 p.m. and not 8 p.m.!!! All day I had been thinking how much I was going to enjoy watching this game later tonight. So I get home around 6:00 (Pacific time) and start flipping through the channels and realize I did it again.

The runner at first looked barely safe to me, but it could have gone either way. I do agree that 99% of umpires call her out, as they love to make that emphatic out call at first.

I agree 100% , florida played very poorly last night. hopefully tonight will be a different story. If the gator hitters take as many good pitches to hit it will be a big Washington victory again.
