How do I run a 12u invite only friendly?

My group wants to run and invite only friendly June 21st. I know some might be in tournaments but may consider this friendly because of the competition I want to invite to play at our field. It would be a great day and some straight up great 12u fastpitch softball at its best.. Just not sure how to go about inviting these teams... Same as my other friendlies, JUST BRING MONEY FOR UMPS. We would like to invite: Lasers Green, 01 Storm, Stingrays, Indy Gators, Cincy Doom, Grand Slam, Thunder Elite, Outlaws Black and my Bandits.
Again, no charge but umps. Play extra games if you like. If these teams wanna play fantastic. If they can't, we can add others. If anyone wants to help with this, I will welcome your help and advice! I have a very nice field. Very nice atmosphere! Thanks teams and coaches. Hope everyone has a fantastic season!

Billy I would guess June would be a hard month...Dayton Metro ...Lasers Nation...Asa States...the majority of the teams are in these tournies.

Good chance of that. Tony PMed me because Stingrays are in a ASA/USA qualifier . So that opens up a spot. Only reason I picked June 21 is because that's the ONLY weekend we aren't playing. So lets put the 12u Hawks in their spot if they can play that weekend?

Billy, I am guessing those teams have their schedules pretty well set for the summer. My suggestion would be to open it up to anyone interested, instead of only if those teams can't make it ... you should probably assume most can't/won't. And if you're going to have that many teams, I trust you have access to more than one field? Other advice ... tell location, conveniences close by, and cost of umps per game.

If you are really far up north I dont think my parents would want to do a overnight trip with the expenses it brings for a friendly in the middle of summer .. I'm all for friendlies but my team is based out of Portsmouth ... 3.5 hours to alot of popular northern hot spots . We could do a cbus friendly but not much farther than that .

We are in Ravenna.. About 2.5 hours from Columbus.. I can get more than just our field of course. It's just a better setting at my field. There's a few teams that have been there that love it. We have great dirt! Don and I put a ton of time and money into this. Cost of the ump is 20$ a game per team. There's plenty of places to eat, plus a big store. We grill over there most of the time. If we can't do this in June, Maybe Sept when everyone is reloaded for 13u ball?? If it can't work now.. It's ok..

June and July are a hard time to set up friendlies. Almost everyone has their schedules set and most of the younger age groups are already starting their summer schedules since they are able to start as soon as the weather breaks in April/May. If you want to do it outdoors than your best bet would be a fall friendly when everyone is gathering their players and are anxious to see what they have. Tournaments are a little more scarce and friendlies are a great, cheap option....especially in September/October when it's still warm.

Seriuosly people, Billy is just sneaking his players needed and friendly posts into the General Softball forum by disguising them with a question. He'll keep doing it as long as you keep playing along or until the moderators take action.

Posting on OFC who is on the "invited" list is probably not the best place to start.

I am Billy and I will not stand for bullying! Not even on OFC! Again I ask a legitiment question because this is something new to my group. You act like this? Please Sir. Why in the world would I invite a team from Indy, cincinnati, and columbus for my player needs? Im sorry you have such a negitive life Sir. If you can't be happy and act like you are a decent human being, please don't comment on my tread. As you can see these people have gave me some great ideas and I'm thankful. Enjoy your day. God Bless.
Billy.

Quick question and maybe this is already known but Billy did you coach the Ohio Fire 12U team last year?

Yes Sir.. What a bad year! But with a little luck and Gods help I was given a nother chance with this group we have put together. We have our own field now, blessed with not one but 2 Bandits teams ( 12u, 14u ) both with enough to play ball! Blessed with great families and talented players! After last year, proof anything is possible with hard work, forgivenss and the man upstairs! :)

Hey Billy, you should give Joe from Mason Thunder a call, he puts together a great friendly and I am sure he would be willing to help, he was saying how good that fire team looked as well! What happened with that? Didn't you have a 10u team as well?

I tell you what 01Fire... If I can get the pieces I need, I would love to get my gals in that tourney.. We played an amazing Grand Slam team tonight. We love the better competition! Man I gotta say there are some just down right talented 12u ball players out here in Ohio! We are very blessed! This is the greatest game there is!!
