Great post Fairman. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I agree with so much of what you are saying. I think as my daughter gets closer to college, she'll understand that D1 might not be the right fit or attainable for that matter. I'm want her to work for that goal, but I'm good with whatever she wants to do. She will continue to work hard both at her pitching and we'll see where this tryout season takes us.

Oh and as for her spin count, we are working on that. Fastball averages 18 but her change up is 23 . I really have no idea about any of that, just what her pitching coach tells us. Thanks again for your feedback. I appreciate it!

The coaches of really good, or "elite" teams are typically looking for 1, or 2, girls, and tryouts are usually private. The coaches are usually overwhelmed with emails and messages. These teams will often have girls in mind they are targeting. Networking is definitely helpful. Have your DD's coaches, travel, high school, hitting, and or pitching, reach out to the new coach and give a fair assessment of her skills. If you get the opportunity for a try out, be sure she brings her "A" game. Don't take the field hoping you are good enough. Own the spotlight.

If she is throwing an 18RPS, hitting the mid-fifties with her fastball and getting 23RPS on her change at 14U she is well on her way. As she develops her other breaking pitches and the speed creeps up as do the RPS's she will be someone's number one. Posts like the one above recruiting her will be common. Good luck.

Right now, the #1 thing going for your DD, is having a supportive parent (like yourself) that is willing to give that "little extra". Good luck!
