How many days a week do YOU work with your daughter on skills?

I have a 10 year old DD who pitches, so I work with her nearly everyday. I also have a 6 year old DD who is obsessed with softball and it is more like...how many hours a day does she let me rest in between practices and trips to the field. With her it is EVERDAY or she freaks out!! :) We were just at the Huron Dawg Daze and I was playing catch with her more than watching the game.

My Daughter and I practice just about everyday from the beginning of March till when the season begins then at least three days a week during the season and usually twice a week during the winter months. We usually take the entire month of August off.

I have 2- one is 13 and pitching, the other is 12 and a catcher. It makes life easier. We warm up, then I get to hit to them. I warm up the pitcher while the catcher hits the t. Then she catches for her sister to do the work she needs. Then I pitch (funny to watch) for them both to get the hitting in. Next thing you know its an hour and a half or longer gone by and we all are hungry. Its good bonding for the DDs and I, and has made us closer. (i know it wount last with teenage girls)

Usually six out of seven days when outside and five to six days a week when inside. Right now, not at all because she broke her middle finger and it's in a splint. Go ahead and ask her to make a fist for you.

Although I must say that if more parents would work with their kids instead of leaving it up to the coaches to teach them everything, there would be alot less complaining about playing time. Often is the time I hear parents complaining about their kid not getting to play where mom and dad think they should be playing, but if you ask them how many times they go out and play catch, pitch them some balls, work some defensive plays, or just work on some basic fundamentals, they look at you like you are crazy. Coaches can teach the game and fundamentals, but the parents have to practice with them and do the repititions necessary to prepare them. The most successful players are the ones who have parents who are willing to spend the necessary time with them to make them better players.

We go about 2-3 times a week. I want to keep her sharp but I do not want to burn her out. She does not pitch.

DD takes the entire month of August off and for the rest of the year works 6 out 7 days on softball. She loves it, and it has shown in her skills and improvement. :yahoo:

leading up to my daughter's first ever tryout(s) I work with her 4 to 5 times a week not counting the two nights that she sees a personal coach (catching/hitting)...most days are 25 minutes sessions working on muscle memory and technique...Saturday and Sunday are 90 minutes + workouts.
I'm lucky. She lets me push her and only complains when she's cursing me under her breath. :lmao:

I'm on OFC everyday and the DD (11u) is beginning to reply some too... does that count... I feel like I can play the game so much better already...

She starts volleyball season Monday (the day after softball tryouts) to avoid burnout. So it will be 7 days a week between the two.

Play4u has it right. My DD gets the last two weeks of August off. Thank Gosh she made the team she wanted last weekend. LOL

she does not even open or look at her equiptment for two solid weeks. Actually going camping this weekend-wow excited about leaving the house and not going to softball (I think that I've been in this too long).

After her two weeks are up the drills begin again. With her being on a new team she will have to see what they do as a team and possibly figure out a new schedule for herself. Never goes two days in a row without doing something even if it's just conditioning.

Fall ball starts soon, then right into Winter ball. I think that the two weeks keeps her sane.

Usually practice 3-4 times a week, but then there is the daddy "boot camp" to get ready for tryouts!
