Pitching and Pitchers Discussion How Much Training Do You Recommend

I have been thinking about how pitchers spend a lot of time and money on lessons and practicing in order to be good at their defensive position. Then I was wondering if it is really true that pitchers need to work harder at their position than other defenders. I know I see quite a few players who do not play their position up to their potential, and I wonder if a few lessons and/or more practice would help them to be the best at their position.

I would like to hear what other people have to say about this.

If you think about how long it takes to learn a pitch you soon realize that pitchers need to practice a lot. Every pitch is different, and new mechanics are needed to throw that pitch. One must throw a lot of bad pitches to get to the good ones. You also need to build strength and endurance. Only one way to do that, practice. So I would say yes pitchers need to practice more to become better.

::)Well, when you think that the pitcher has to perform her job correctly dozens of times each game to keep those games progressing smoothly (as opposed to the ***yawn***walkfest)--not even the catcher catches every pitch (sometimes the ball is HIT), which other defensive position is this busy? :p
