How to get the word out about tryouts?

Obviously social media is the #1 way to get the word out about team tryouts, but everyone isn't aware of these forums and not everyone has facebook. What other ways do you get the word out about tryouts?

Obviously social media is the #1 way to get the word out about team tryouts, but everyone isn't aware of these forums and not everyone has facebook. What other ways do you get the word out about tryouts?

In the past we have placed ads in our local papers, went to the local rec. parks and put up flyers as well as batting cages.
Other than that just having a name in the community helps...

We like to pass out flyers at tournaments, local leagues, all star teams, social media, local businesses, and just word of mouth. One cool thing Central ohio ice does is they have a yard sign and they have a brochure you can take off the yard sign. Very smart idea from a great successful organization.
