It's that time of the year again when we have to hibernate to dark & dingy indoor facilities. Some are spacious and some are not.
What are coaches' favorite indoor drills?
Our team played "Ultimate Softball" at some recent practices. We had teams of 3 play against another squad of 3 on a basketball court. Using "Ultimate Frisbee" rules, a team would have to advance the ball to the opposite endline by a series of throws and successful catches. We set tight rules of 0 or 1 steps after a catch. A dropped throw resulted in a turnover to the other team. The players were able to work on a variety of short and long throws, and various flips, and their teammates worked on moving to the ball, etc. Winners played on. Keep playing until one team wins 3-5 series.
