OK, mind is just wandering sitting at airport this am....

Have you ever filed a claim through any sport insurance avenue if your kid got hurt playing?

I can say No never have, always through my own insurance. But I know team insurance copies are needed for teams at tournaments.

If you are a TD have you ever had a claim against you?

Though this is my first year as a TD, it was my understanding that teams were to carry insurance for themselves and eliminate the filing against the tourament. Maybe I misread your post but that's the way it was explained to me. We have had one player file for a fractured wrist and I gave the parents a copy of our team insurance. I can't say for sure if they used it or not though.

Last year in July our DD tore her MCL, ACL and meniscus while playing a state final game - Someone came up to us from the Executive Committee and told us that their insurance would pick up what our insurance doesn't (up to $500) - Needless to say almost a year later the $350 that our insurance did not cover is still not paid and every reason they can keep coming up with keeps delaying the process - Now we are getting very impatient letters and calls from the hospital - We should have just paid it ourselves a long time ago

3 years ago my DD tore her ACL/MCL and meniscus and we used the team insurance. It was awesome it is supplemental insurance and it worked we only had to pay the $500.00 deductible. Now she is back playing 18U and we are happy.
