Denison University softball has partnered with Showtime Strength and Performance to bring Olympic medalist, Jennie Finch, to Granville, Ohio for a softball skills and performance clinic. The clinic will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 12?6 p.m. at The Mitchell Center on the campus of Denison University. Participants eligible for the clinic must be between the ages of 8-18 years of age.
Jennie Finch is one of the most decorated and well known softball players in the history of the game. She is a two time Olympic medalist (gold in 2004, silver in 2008). During her time with Team USA, Finch also played in the National Pro Fastpitch softball league with the Chicago Bandits. She made a name for herself during her collegiate career with the University of Arizona where she was a two-time All-American, and a member of the Wildcats' 2001 national championship team.
Clinic participants will receive hands on instruction as they rotate through multiple offensive and defensive stations supervised by the Denison softball team and coaching staff. Those who wish to focus on pitching development will need to bring a catcher with them. Participants will also receive sports performance instruction and assessment in the areas of speed, agility, quickness, and power by the Showtime staff.
All registrations will be handled by Showtime Strength and Performance.

Registration Information

Registration for the clinic is $150 per participant and will include the following:

  • Top notch instruction in the following areas:
  • pitching (must provide catcher), hitting, defensive skills
  • Sports performance instruction and assessment
  • To enhance speed, agility, quickness, and power
  • Official clinic t-shirt
  • Goodie bag
  • Lunch
  • Pitching demonstration by Jennie Finch

To that note sandman, what would be the cost if you didn't have a daughter in the camp but were there for your own knowledge?

Coaches and parents are always welcome to attend our regular Denison camps and clinics. However, due to the large volume of interest in the Jennie Finch Clinic we have had to close it to the public to insure the participants of the clinic get the individualized attention they deserve.

"Pitching demonstration by Jennie Finch" So is she actually teaching a station or just pitching for the kids to watch?

Jennie Finch will be doing both. She will do a demo then follow up with instruction. She will be with the pitchers the entire time of the clinic.

Just got home from the clinic and watching her pitch and all I can say is wow! the girl can make the ball move for sure and I bet that catcher will remember this day for the rest of her life I mean she got to catch for Jennie Finch. I know my dd would have never let anyone ever touch the mitt that she used if she got to catch her. Cool day for sure!

Jennie Finch was awesome today, she is a great lady, she is a great teacher and motivational speaker, my daughter had the best time, she was one of the four girls at the end of the clinic to have her name called to receive a prize, that was priceless for her, what a great expierence all around!
