Saw Hitters post about starting a thread about what Jessica did after the Gold Medal Game. Lets see how many people are behind the ladies and their quest for the future of the sport.

This is a really great story. It's one that I don't think many saw on the local news and I don't remember seeing anything about it in the papers. But everything starts with one small gesture. Maybe we as a community need to voice our thoughts on how important this game is to our girls. For the ones who have never experienced it they may not understand the love of the game, the drive and desire of the girls and the passion that stays with them even at the level our National team plays.

If anyone has any ideas on how to get the message out post them and lets do like these three teams did and work together and try to make a difference. We may not be able to do anything but we sure won't be able to if we do nothing. So...lets hear the ideas

This is the site I got it from...if all else fails go to ESPN home page and type in Jessica Mendoza and it will come up as I just did it.

Candrea resignation letter is also listed off their site type in Mike Candrea. It is good to see him staying involved especially in Europe! This is where the votes are that are needed to get it back into the games in my opinion.

I'm not sure you're her type. You might need some alterations. Not one player on this year's team should be thinking about doing anything in 2016 except watching the olympics on TV. Any attempts to linger on the playing field (like a couiple of the worthless old women Candrea carried) would be a sure sign of Brett Favre syndrome-- the inability to quit the game.

This is a serious warning that many parents should heed: do not discourage your children's efforts to become well-rounded. Turning them into softball junkies will leave them grasping for any meaning to life when they're 22.

I am thankful that someone is willing to carry the torch for my children and others who could realize their lifelong dream of playing softball in the Olympics. Thanks Jessica Mendoza.
