Lady Lasers Silver 01

Head Coach: Michael Waddell (740-360-5996 or mwaddell99@gmail.com)
Assistant Coaches: Allen Adams, & TBD

The Lady Lasers were started by Jeff Cavanaugh in 1993 with one 12+U team. We have expanded to more age groups with more teams over the years. In 2015 we have teams competing at the highest level in all age groups. We usually have one team for every age group, from 18 year olds down to 8 year olds. Sometimes we have more than one team for an age group and many teams that play up in age. Our players are from throughout the state of Ohio (areas of Columbus, Cleveland, Toledo, Cincinnati, and areas in between) and even from beyond the state of Ohio. Lasers organization is committed to growth of the individual and team, and exposure to the best tournaments and competition.

Schedule for 2015/2016

Fall schedule possibilities
College team camps & showcase tournaments (2-3 total)
Practices every other Sunday afternoon (location TBD. . . last year practiced in Delaware)

Winter
TBD

Summer schedule (Schedule TBD)
Dayton Metro?
Laser Nation
ASA States
Orville Fire in the Sky
Stingrays
Aunt Rosie's International?
Nationals?
Others TBD

Tournament schedule could change based on makeup of the team once the team is established with the goals of the team in mind.

We will be looking for athletes that can play multiple positions, and have experience playing at a high level. This will be a 01 based team, but we will consider 02 players if it is the right fit. We plan to carry 11 players with multiple positions open/available at this time. We are looking for girls that are hard working, self motivated, want to be challenged, have a great attitude, and have the desire to play at the next level.

We set fees and budget based on tournament schedule, uniforms, and team needs. We will have a coach at all tryout locations, except for Youngstown area. Feel free to contact me for information.

Consider this team if you don't mind hard core daddy ball.

Ah, the thankless job of being a coach & pouring your time & effort into other people's kids while their parents sit back & ridicule everything you do.

I, like most coaches, am harder on my daughter than any other player on the team...& it probably shows too often. My expectations for her are very high (sometimes probably unattainable). Along with the other two coach's kids this past year, the stats speak for themselves for all three of them....and no, none of our spouses ever kept the book.

sbmom2001 & 22_southpaw, I wish you and your daughters the best in their future endeavors. They both have the skill set & potential to do well in whatever they choose to do.

My daughter is a 00 and played for Coach Mike in the past. I wish he and his daughter were moving up to 16U so my daughter could tryout for his team, and my daughter and his play the same position. Think about how many of you would want your daughter on a team where the coaches kid plays plays the same position. I know Mike will be a fair and teaching coach.

Having coached against Mike for the past 2 or 3 seasons, the one thing I can attest is that he will be a great coach for your daughter. I don't see the Daddy ball.
You won't go wrong with him as a coach.

Great coach here.

Daddy ball comment is totally wrong. You want to play high level ball and learn then come try out for Silver 01

Mike is a great coach! I have watched him coach for many years, he is very good with the girls, his parents and fellow coaches. He has respect from many TD's because if the way he handles himself. There is no daddy ball here!! This man loves the game, enjoys coaching and gives 100%

I have no kid on this team or in this organization, but have watched this team many times over the years including this past year. The random pot shot is absurd and completely without merit. Very solid guy and coach that I'd commit my kid to in a heart beat. Despite the weak attempt on the part of these couple posters, this team will have absolutely no problem pulling and landing top talent and rightfully so. Best of luck to Mike and Allen.

Wow! Mike is a great person and an excellent coach! Not deserving at all of the negative post! If your upset about the movement of the team; then leave it at that; However, don't discredit a good man and his daughter. I know the family and I also know the amount of effort Mike's daughters put in. She is deserving to play what you call "Daddy ball"! I call it earning her spot and by the results of their year, Mike must have been putting the players in the right places! Turn your finger around, point directly back in your face and quit playing jealous ball.
