Yeah Thats where I was going to send him if he was traveling thru portsmouth --I would actually recommend the steak instead of the ribs . The ribs are country style pork cuts , not like baby backs. But the ribeyes are out of the this world. Don't order the large it's 1/2 a cow . MD

also my DD is a 12 so it's the early time slot for us . As far as dining out in the ashland area you will have to go some other route other than BBq , as far I know we are BBq poor in the area. Extremely fine world class affordable Italian dining 20 min up the road in Ceredo wv at Roccos's. Mexican in ashland at La Finca is very good . MD

might want to call ahead I'm not for sure if they do lunch ----Dinner is fantasic, don't miss the sauteed mushrooms on the appitizer menu. Plan on a 30-60 min wait if you go at 6-7 on frid or sat night. MD

Factoryrat, Rocco is my brother-in-law. You wont go wrong. Get there before 5:30 or so and the wait will be short. Best Italian food I have ever eaten, including NY and Chicago. Ask to speak to Rocco and tell him Rod said to take care of another softball brother in arms! I reccommend the Fruta Del Mar ( fruits of the sea) in a cream sauce. Lots of seafood over pasta!

I agree totally with the Dusters coach , I've dined in little italy in Chicago , lived in birmingham, al. and been fortunate to travel all across the world. Nothing has been as good as Rocco's. He is quite the character also. Was kind enough to email me the mushroom apppitizer recipe ..but I'm sure he left out something ! I've been dining there with my wife since we started dating in 1986 ! It's our most special place . MD (man did we hijack this thread :D )
