I heard over the w/e that there was a merger of some kid between Lasers Orange and Ohio Ice 13's. ?Any truth to the rumor of this potential powerhouse?

Does anyone know the truth as to what is going on with the Ohio Ice organization?

Too many rumors floating around.

Not sure where you got this information, but it's not true. I believe that three kids from the Lasers Orange went to an Ice team.

Hope this helps you out.

I guess I should have been clearer, I don't know that it's a merger but 3 kids from last years Orange team are now on the Ice 13's.

Thanks to all.

This is the second bad rumor that has set suspicion and bad press for a great organization.

Good luck to all the Ice teams.

as an outsider to both organizations, I was just curious... ?heard it and found it difficult to believe... ?especially following Orange having such a successful season and a great run at ASA's

Am I missing something here Nini? ? While it sounds as though it is just a rumor, I am unclear as to how 2 very good teams combining to form what would be a potential Ohio and National power house, would be considered "bad press". ?Personally, I would love to see a group of Ohio girls give the So-Cal teams a run for their money at ASA's.

Who did the Orange lose, or should I ask who did the Ice pick up? No need to mention names - position, role, etc.....
I saw both and my daughter played against both and either team picking up three of the others players shifts the balance of the 13u teams alot.

The lefty pitcher, the 3rd baseman, and the first baseman/right fielder.

Wow ?That is huge. ?Did the Ice lose a pitcher or do they now have three big time pitchers. ?What are they going to be called the Lasers, Ice, or something else. ?This team should be able to compete with most 14u teams as 13s with those two teams combining and the pitching they should have. Chaos has an interesting point ? That team could do well on a national level in '08.
Good luck all teams ?The spring is right around the corner

Listen folks, its not all that sinister. The Laser coach decided to set down this season and join a team a little closer to home. A couple of his daughters friends decided to join her. I wish the best of luck to all the parties involved. I know I will miss the Orange coach's mentoring. Thanks Adam.

I believe if you were to compare rosters for most organizations from last year to this year, you could make the same comparison as you are with the Lasers/Ice. Each year girls move from team to team looking for the right fit, not looking to build the next powerhouse. At this time next year, I would be surprised, and wager good money, that the makeup of the team, has changed again, as well as the 200 other travel teams throughout Ohio.

Coachdad is right, there was no master plan, no big conspiracy or anything like that, just a decision we made to play a little closer to home, thanks for the kind words Todd, I have nothing but great feelings and memories from the Lasers.
And to answer the question the Ice pitchers are healthy, just added the lefty from the Lasers Orange so we now have 3.
