Just have to vent for a minute, now that I have time after re-doing the pool play games and schedules because a team decided to drop out of the tournament 2 days before the tournament, and me trying to be the better person and accepting a lame excuse on the reason why they never sent out the payment for the entry form when they said we will just bring it when we check in......Then the same who coach who done that to me, decided to take another teams player who is in my tournament. Leaving him in search of a pitcher the last minute. I dont only blame a coach for doing this, I blame a parent for allowing their daughter to bail out on her team the last tournament of the season. What are you teaching your child? I think this is getting worse every year. Ok Im done.

That's ridiculous. Hang the coach on the courthouse lawn.

I will say this again - TDs need to toughen up. If a team does this I would never allow them to play in my event again and I would publicize it in this forum. By doing so maybe it will save another TD the hassles you had to go through. If the coach did it once he/she will do it again.

And if they are part of a larger organization I would penalize them as well. Only they can control their coaches.

As a TD myself this is why all fees are paid upfront. And a cutoff date is set for refunds. I agree with flarays that the entire organization should be penalized also.

Yeah - that really stinks & I am all about "an eye for an eye" but should you penalize the whole organization? I would say yes if this has happened more than once from the same org but to potentially penalize a hundreds of kids may be extreme for one person's irresponsible actions. What if this coach leaves for another org, which org would you punish - I would think neither just that coach & then let him explain to his players why they can't get in. Further, the organizational leadership should be the one who steps in & insure this coach publicly apologizes to you at a minimum. Food for thought.

This is the coach who dropped out of your tournament. I didn't drop your tournament for another tournament. We were go to national the Monday after your tournament. We were going to play your event and leave from it to travel to nationals. A lot of my parents decided that they were going to leave on Saturday witch left me without enough players. I did try to get some fill ins but could not. Sorry for the problems this cost you. As for taking the extra pitcher with us to nationals. That was her parents decision.
