Loaning out players

@SoCal Dad:

Are we sure that simply awarding the the ENQ berth to all teams at a single tournament doesn't mean that those teams played in championship play, thus locking their rosters from that tournament? Or are you saying that the one tournament that awards the berths is the tournament that should be of concern on the subbing question, freeing up all other tournaments, assuming they no longer are ENQs, for more flexible rosters?

Interesting point.

All these responses are great! Thank you very much for affirming some of my thoughts.

I do get the qualifier situation.

What I didn't make clear in the beginning post was this situation with the loaning of players is primarily in our own organization . Be it that they are playing up at 11 or assisting the 9U team.

Still a rostering problem. Girls are rostered by a particular team, not an organization. Within the same organization does make it a little easier to sub up or down, as long as the tournaments are non-qualifiers.

Check out the elgibility issues for sure, but if it is not a qualifier, go for it.

Bingo on the latter. Local association (state/metro) championships already lock the rosters because they award berths for ASA/USA Nats. There is no need for ENQs if everyone can qualify by playing in their association championship. This is fairly standard for Class A in most associations. Class B is a whole different discussion.

FWIW, many associations put together a flowchart/map for championship play like this one - NorCal ASA 2011 Road to Nationals

for us you will bat in pool play (ASA) if they allow it... that is if you are Number 10. If USSSA, you will bat the entire weekend. If we need a sub for warn out players, injury, guess what... you are in like Flin! We always stick to this. I always check sanctioning before asking and that is our stance. I always clear it with the team, each and every time, and then ask on OFC or my lil' coaches network. Never assume, always communicate. Your thoughts in your post are all very understood. No stone unturned. We had a player come from Cleveland 2 years ago and we were thankful to have her as insurance. One of the parents said after 3 games... pull my DD so she can play. I did.... love our families!!! Communication and sticking to what is sanctioned rules/guidelines and what you said you would do is key! Injuries are the worst of all if all other things go well.

NSA roster rule on this:

Once a player has been released, she can not go back to the team releasing her. She would then be rostered to the team picking her up for the remainder of the season (thru Aug 31). If she is released from the second team, she is finished for the season (again thru Aug 31). Also players can play up one age group. Example; A player with 12u eligibility can be rostered in 14u. If she starts 14u, she can not go back down to 12u the remainder of the season. She can go back the next season if she is still eligible birthdate wise.

Good points. For instance...I believe in ASA if you roster up an age division you can't play back down in you age division the rest of the season. I also believe if you are rostered on a NSA roster then play for another team in an NSA tourney you can't go back to your team.

That is very classy. You should be proud. (Which it sounds like you are. :) )

yes... but more like lucky. Regardless of wins and losses... we always get along and never have any issues. What more could you want when playing at this level!

Anyone got some HGH so we can get to 90% health? :lmao:
