Now that I got your attention, this is a good post, not a bad one
Yesterday we had the opportunity to meet this great group of middle school girls from Akron Buchtel Middle School. They are the new middle school softball team. They were supposed to have had their first game already, but had to cancel it because they did not have equipment and jerseys. Yesterday, thanks to many of you, Stay in Softball was able to fix their equipment problem. We were able to bring enough equipment so that every girl could have their own bat, glove, ball, facemask
and helmet. The helmets are all being painted in school colors so they match. Many girls also were given a pair of cleats (if we had their size). We were also able to provide them two full sets of catcher's gear, two tees, one bucket of new balls (with padded top), about 30 used batting practice balls and two rolling equipment bags.
We are working on trying to get them jerseys and softball pants by Monday (their next scheduled game). These girls were all so polite and grateful. They patiently waited their turn to pick out their items and all said thank you (several times). We also got a few thank you posts on our Facebook site from some of their parents when they saw the equipment their daughters came home with. We wanted those of you who have donated used items to see just where they go.
So, thanks to all of you who have supported Stay in Softball so far. It really means a lot to the girls who get the benefit of the donations!
