just a random thought. if a coach (or a parent) is posting on any social media platform looking for player(s), it's probably A) good idea to not post as anonymous B) include org and / or team name, and C) maybe include schedule to help quantify your team's skill level.

rant complete.

Playing devil's advocate here. How many teams in your estimation are playing tournament schedules that are far outside their skill level you think? How many "Showcase" teams are playing showcases where they continuously get their butts handed to them because they have one or two players that want to play college ball but the skill level of the team is B- at best and maybe those one or two players are B+ at best? Just because they post their schedule doesn't quantify the actual skill level of the team.

There's a reason that we also try and find their win-loss record as well. A team that has around a .600 win percentage is playing a tournament schedule that is comparable to their skill level. Determining the tournament classification and opposing team classification takes a little work on the parents' part but is time well spent in my experience and I feel, is more quantifiable as to a team's skill level than tournament schedule.

I don't disagree at all as to upcoming schedule really not being a judge of talent for entire team. Maybe post past season schedule and results?? There are many out there exactly as you describe (or worse). But still, in my example, not have team / org or coach's name... having their schedule (past or future) might help a little.

And you're correct about getting into nitty gritty with won / loss records and stuff, deep dive into GC, comparing posted results with opponents GC results (yes, I've found differences) , etc

Well there is also the who did you play aspect. .500 vs some of the top programs in the country are fare mor impressive than the .750 vs. teams/organizations that are happy to have the chance to play you...
