I understand and commend you on finding other fields to play on. With what the city is doing to you your doing a fine job.. We played there last week and the tourney ran fine. I wasn't trying to slam you in anyway just give you a point of view that's all. This is the first I was told about running water or restrooms at Palmer. Sounds like a fine place to play. Having these accomodations may calm people down. So the price has been cut from 50 to 30 for a team that is playing Sat at Palmer?

It is $30, I made a misprint in my typing of the document. That covers anyone for you team (i.e. parents, grandparents, friends, etc.) even those that come from OSP to from Palmer.

I am not bashing the tourney, we haven't even played it yet. I just don't think or feel that it is not right to charge people twice for the same thing. And you can explain it anyway you want but that is what is happening here. I appreciate that for the $30 you can bring everyone under the sun-however, myself and it sounds like others, we are splitting our time in 2 and 3 different directions just trying to make sure that someone is at a field with various children. I'm not complaining about different locations, we've had to do that before.(I'm thankful they are close to one another) I'm not complaining about scheduling, have had to deal with that also. I think myself and others are saying that it's just not right to charge someone twice for the same thing. And it doesn't help that OSP charges $3 bucks to get in daily.

Coaches, Those with their first game at Palmer will be able to check-in at the Palmer fields location. I will be forwarding an e-mail with this information.

Traci,

I think it is a very nice gesture to honor Dana in this way. Is this memorial tree at OSP? Why wasn't this publicized earlier, our 14's, 16's & 18's all have players that knew and/or played with Dana. They would have all chosen to participate in your tourney knowing this.

Good Luck this weekend and may this storm pass.

Doug -

The stone for Dana will be placed under a tree at OSP. This was an idea I had to honor Dana as a former Ohio Emeralds coach with knowledge of how this great kid affected so many others. Our girls at 10u wore a sticker with her number on their helmets when she was first diagnosed, and we have followed her progress until the end. It was remarkable how well-loved she was by her teammates, and how these young girls became each others' rock. I think we can all learn a lesson about dignity and what's really important from the actions of these girls.

We weren't trying to leave anyone out - I sent information about our tournament to you. However, I wasn't going to promote our tournament through the loss of a child. You chose to play elsewhere. I just wanted the Emeralds girls and Dana's parents to have somewhere to keep her spirit alive in the game she loved.

Good luck to your girls this summer

Palmer fee when broken down is not $4 per player. 12 man roster equates to less than $2 per player w/ two parents. Your team can bring as many people as they want to watch for that fee, not $4 a piece and not the $5 at OSP per person over the age of 12.

Your miss print turned into a explained miss print:confused: 12 players 2.00 two parents = $48 not $30;&. Mean what you say, say what you mean.

Because we decided to give a break at $30. So what are you saying? Are we trying to make Mountains out of Mole hills here. It's less than $2 per player if you take 12 players by $30. Let it go

It was not dropped, it was a miss print by me and my wonderful typing skills. My bad and I take that on 100%. The proof can be found on our website by looking at the document. You can see where I put $30 in one spot and $50 in another.

Not making mountain out of mole hill it was either a miss print or a break, personally I'm glad it was lowered just be consistent. We are all (some) grown ups here we can handle the truth.

You can make all the assumptions you want. Those that know me know I am an honest person. I find it interesting how everyone on here knows who I am but those complaining have yet to state the team they are with or whom they are. . .

I will stick by my moral values and will be honorable to the end. I admitted I made a mistake in the writing of the paperwork. Nothing more, nothing less.

We will have a great time this weekend and are so looking forward to the great weather forcasted!

I wasn't complaining just stating the obvious, in the end the girls will have a good time this weekend, unless a little complaining can get entrance fee to $20. (just kidding):lmao:
Oh and I'm not representing any team, just a concerned parent.

We played at both sets of fields today and they are running a very good tournament. After a year or two, it's going to be a beautiful facility. I'm still not sure if coolers are allowed or not. I know there were people with small ones there. I left mine in the car, but I asked the girls at the gate (the younger ones) and as far as they knew the coolers were allowed. I just didn't want to drag my big *** cooler in, just to have someone tell me to take it to my car. Lol

very well run tourney. 1st time at Palmer fields and they were great. Fields were great for the younger girls and location. Had good consession stand with hamburgers and more. Kinda like Shady Lawn fields(I think that what the name of those fields) OSP was ok this week. It didn't seem the parking was as bad as last week and I don't know why because I think there were more teams this week than last. Madness did great for a 1st time tourney. The only thing I might do next year is make sure all the field have temp. fence, but I don't think that was Madness fault. I think that sould be up to OSP if they want to hold fastpitch tourneys. Might be hard since they had slowpitch coming in Sunday to play(Might not have enough time to take them down) Very nice job Madness

I would like to say that the Madness ran a nice tournament. I agree with the above poster that I would try to get temp fences up for the tournament. The 300' fences definitely influenced the play. Many in the park homeruns that should have been doubles. Again, that's not the Madness' fault. The fields were very nice. Built in sprinkler systems for watering the fields between games. In a year or two this facility will rival many in Ohio. Contrary to what was posted earlier, they did allow coolers and I did drag mine in today. They ran a great tournament and the Madness gave us a scare in the semis. Congrats to our Maddogs in winning the tournament. Congrats to the Ice Wahl who won the 16u. In the future I would caution people from complaining about a tournament that has yet to be played.

BTW: The first place trophies were beautiful!! A plaque shaped like a home plate with a spot to put a team picture, which they provided for us immediately following the finish. They had photographers on hand who took the pics and then they printed them right there. Very nice and the girls loved them!!
