I saw it over and over again and as much as I hate to defend the guy that umpire did that on purpose. There is no way an umpire at that level misses balls that far outside of the strike zone. The first call was not good but the last one was obviously intentional and there is no place for an umpire like that even at little kid level. Manny deserved the ejection but that umpire should be disciplined harshly as in my opionon he decided himself he would provoke the situation.

As the big guy said, these guys know their strike zones and have worked at it for years, especially the elite hitters in the game like Manny. I think the umpire was just out to make a name for himself and get in the paper, you dont miss calling pitches as bad as he did.


Disclaimer: Even tho Manny was a thorn in the side of my Yankees forever, you have to give it to him when it comes to hitting.
