They have put-put, rope course with zip line, several playgrounds, huge food court with tables and shade, and more!

I am looking forward to seeing this new park ... sounds great. One question though ... April 14-15 on Lake Erie ... is Cedar Point even open yet?

Good question. I checked the Cedar Point website and they show the park opening in May. I also visited the Park and if is something to see. The all turf fields are really nice, they are putting a lot of extra things in, like water in each dugout, play areas for younger siblings and one I really like: a locker room for umpires!
Access is easy and even from house in Burton, it is about 1.5 hours and I believe 79 miles.

sounds great except for that one old bugaboo......$250 additional if you live more than 60 miles but don't mind driving....
still just absolutely hate the use us or pay more mentality for lodging. and yes i know the answer someone's gonna give me, if ya don't wanna pay to stay don't enter the tournament
which i will do my darndest to influence the coaches to do just that......not enter a tourney like that.

Not my tournament just trying to help promote this beautiful park. I do understand they need to pay for it, and it was a huge expense to build I am told.

Cedar point tickets can be used anytime that year I'm told

I thinkn it's fantastic that someone would invest in the future of Fastpitch here in Ohio with a world class facility.
I think that is just awesome. I just really dislike the arbitrary lodging rules thrown into it. I just don't understand why someone who lives say 100 miles away should be penalized if they don't mind traveling to and fro.
Maybe it's just the conservative side of me not liking being forced to do something I don't need to do lol

Warren ... understand the pay to play is probably their rules, but just to clarify who will be running things there, aren't you "D1 Fastpitch"? Assuming so, will you be running all of their fastpitch events?

I've been going to stay to play for three years, and never stayed at "their" place via "their" website. When asked about it, I told them you didn't offer lowest rates as you advertised. They showed me "their" rate, I showed them mine and told them to go pound salt, and have never been questioned again, and ALWAYS allowed to play in "their" events. I have spoke to lawyers about this as well, and they simply cannot allow you not to play, or charge you more money so simply stop doing it. What are they going to do, cancel the tournament????? Not your lose because you can find many tournaments to attend. I would ask everyone to simply stop believing you have to do it, and stay wherever you please.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
