RVBFY CLUB SOFTBALL LEAGUE 2014
We welcome 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls to participate. We offer two divisions for an even split of skill level and competition: Varsity and JV. Any participating school is welcome to put one or more teams in the league but must consist of girls from the same participating school. Please be sure to indicate which division your team should play in with your registration. Final determination will be made by RVBFY. We will be using OHSAA rules and pitch from 43?. Team practice for all players can begin on February 24, 2014. The season will begin with our first games on April 1, 2014, and continue for five weeks ending May 3, 2014. Our goal is to complete a 15 game schedule. All games will be played at the RVBFY complex in Marion, Ohio. The schedule should provide two week night games and double headers on three Saturdays. Most week night games will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Scheduled Saturdays will be April 5th, April 12th,and April 26th. Makeup games due to rain are difficult to reschedule but will be attempted on Saturday May 3rd. Week night game time is 5:30 pm and Saturdays at 11:00 am, 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm. A preliminary schedule will be published March 17th and the FINAL schedule by March 20th. Once the schedule is set, inability to field a team will result in a forfeit. The Team fee will be $200.00 and must be paid in full by March 11, 2014. Team fees include league operations, field preparation and lining of the fields, and the scheduling the umpires. Both teams will evenly split the umpire fee at each game ($20.00 per team = $40 per game to umpire). Each team is to provide six new ASA or OHSAA official game balls prior to the season starting. Each team is also responsible for their uniforms. A unique number on the back of each matching shirt is required. Team liability (not medical) insurance is mandatory and all coaches must provide Concussion Certification. We will welcome 16 teams to the league. Please register your team and coach now with a preliminary roster to reserve your place in the league. Register by completing the top of the Registration Form and returning it by e-mail or mail.
The registration deadline is Tuesday, March 11, 2014. Team information, schedule conflicts, team fees, Varsity/JV designation and a preliminary roster is due by that day. There will be a coaches meeting March 11, 2014, at 6:00 pm at the River Valley Middle School commons area. We will discuss and finalize league rules and conduct expectations for players, coaches, officials, and fans. Final roster, game balls, insurance papers, and Coach Concussion Certification are due before play on April 1, 2014.
