My Little Girl

I was prepared for the day when my son flexed his muscles with me and tried to show that he could do things as good or better than "his old man". With a son it is a right of passage and a constant challenge. He will continue work to prove himself until he has his own "pack" to lead.
Yesterday while playing catch "my little girl" consistantly threw harder than me, she wasn't trying to "show me up" though. I realize I have some hard miles on me and I am getting older (& fatter) but I never considered how I would feel when my daughter passed me by. I don't know if I am more proud or shocked (probably sexist).

I am in that same boat, I believe it is PROUD. I was thinking about that as well at the OSU game yesterday when my 14 year old daughter was charting the game in a score book. She said that is a fielders choice not a hit. I had to stop and listen and smile.
Flatline our days are just starting with our daughters now that they are doing their thing.....be proud, your doing great.

Don't feel bad. I was complaining how hard my daughters were pitching when they were pitching change ups at 12 years old. I had them throw them into a fence, and then I would pick them up and throw back. Now my husband even wears padding in his glove when catching my daughter.

Mine doesn't throw harder than me because I got muscles. But she does get an evil grin every time I shake the feeling back into my hand.

That is one of the small pleasures that I occationally allow my DD, but there are times when I could bite my tongue into because it hurts so good. Most of the time I wait until she turns around and then shake my hand and quietly shout "OH S#-T".

I just throw knuckle balls and overhand curve balls so my kid still doesnt know she can throw harder then me, she thinks I am always just screwing around.

My "little girl" can throw a ball underhand faster than I can throw overhand. :yahoo:

I was still in my late 30's when my daughter was a 105 lb freshman and she could throw harder than me. I was still as fast as her then but she passed me there too chasing after 5 children of her own...

I have 3 girls and my 2 oldest (13-10) LOVE picking me up in front of their teammates and friends. I don't know if it is show of strength among the girls, but it is slightly humiliating to be lifted up and passed around a 10U team. I think the girls are just as competitive in the I-can-do-it-better-than-you game. Although I can still outrun my 2 oldest, they are turtles!!
