Both our daughters were registered online. I was never aware of any other way.

I started to register the other night but stopped because no where did it mention how much the registration fee was. Does anyone know how much it is?

Thanks for the heads-up on this. When I was going to college, there wasn't such a thing yet. I didn't even realize it existed. Of course, my oldest is only 11, so everything will probably be changed by then anyway.

Anyone know if there is an expiration date on the NCAA Clearinghouse? I.e. can you do it your sophomore year or does it expire?

The current cost of registration is $60.00 and you can't register until your junior year. The NCAA recommends that you make your guidance counselor aware when you start high school that you will eventually be registering with them so they can keep you on track with the NCAA's academic requirements to be eligible for approval.

Do it as soon as possible. It makes things so much easier. Also, your daughter needs to remember to go back after she graduates. There is a final step relating to electronic signature that must be completed. I remember it was really complicated and difficult to find when we were told it needed done for my oldest daughter.

When you are registered you can log on and it shows each step of the process and highlights in red what has not been done yet such as SAT or ACT score received, HS transcripts through your junior year received ect. All is done online only now and they no longer even mail out the Guide for the College Bound Athlete book anymore, it's available only to read or print from their website. It's a big assumption on their part that every kid out there has readily available internet access, especialy in the inner city.
