Cara Parker hits a 2-run shot to give the Lady Norse the lead against Ferris State 2-0. Way to go Cara!

April Ehlers is pitching a great game so far, giving up 1 hit and striking out 8 through 5 innings.

Update.....

Cara Parker hits a double off the center field wall to plate another runner! NKU now has a 3-0 lead in the top of the 6th.

NKU beats Ferrris State 3-0 in their first game of the regionals. Cara Parker drives in all three runs and April Ehlers throws a 7 inning, 2 hit shutout! The Lady Norse are hitting the ball hard and April's pitching was off the hook!! Keep up the great play ladies! NKU's next game is Saturday at 10:30am against the winner of the Saginaw Valley State/Lewis game.

Guess all good things have to come to an end....13 inning 2-1 loss yesterday (also lost our second baseman on a high take out slide - looks deliberate on film) sent the girls into the losers bracket. Were leading 1-0 after 5 when the wheels started to come off, ended up dropping it 5-1. Was a good season though and I really enjoyed watching the team come together and develop.

yes it was a great season
My hats off to the girls,Kathy and chip
It is amazing what can be accomplished when the girls buy in to the coaching
this team has a huge upside with the young talent that is there and the recruits coming in but the key is all the hard work and time put in with the best hitting instructor around has certainly paid off

I could not agree more McQueen. The girls did put in alot of time with Chip, and it shows! Great job to the girls and the coaches.

It was a very good season and the girls should be very proud of themselves. The extra inning game sounded very exciting. I was in Columbus watching my dd's V-ball teams play in the regional championships this weekend but tried to follow NKU whenever I could through texts and the internet. It was a blast following them through the conference and regional tourneys......there were some very exciting games.
