What are some of the top HS teams and players in Northern Ky?

Top teams would probably be Ryle and Connor, both of them have excellent pitching with Kirsten Allen (sophomore at Ryle) and Sarah Rice (senior at Connor). Kentucky doesn't break softball down by division, they have 16 regions and the regional champion goes to State. Ryle went to State last year and tied for 7th.

I noticed on some KY HS teams last year that some rosters had 7th and 8th grade players on them. ? That is sure different than Ohio.

Are seventh and eigth graders allowed on HS teams in Ohio? I hear rumblings that the powers that be are trying to stop it here in KY. The Ryle pitcher is playing for the Louisville Lady Sluggers by-the-way. Plays very well but one of about five pitchers on that team.

7th & 8th grade players are not allowed to play on hs teams in ohio. i'm sure it would help the pitchers so stats.

I don't know about padding the pitchers SO stats by facing JR high girls. ?I am eagerly awaiting my 8th grade DD to come up next year and play on my HS team. ?A much needed bat on an improved hitting team. ?I wish I had the opportunity to play JR high girls, might be alot of HS girls sitting the bench.

That is great Lady Knight, ?good luck to your dd. ? I wish that Ohio middle school players could participate in the HS team. ? My dd would love to play but at 13/14 she would be no match for the dominant 18+ year old senior pitchers here in SWO.

Just a note, there are still a few Ky schools clinging to slow pitch at the High school level, all mostly in Northern Ky. Twenty plus teams with some programs hosting both FP and SP to which boost title IX numbers for the school. These schools are mostly in Kenton Co. which has a no rec program for fASTPITCH unless they travel to Boone or Campbell which is common. Unless these schools get behind a rec program and start developing players for their future, they are going to be behind by about ten years, since KHSAA is trying to phase out slow pitch in the next three years.
