Can someone please explain to me why this tournament has Friday play (14u in particular) with only 9 teams. On top of charging gate fees for three days, you are costing parents vacation time. I would understand if there were 20 teams.

Also some advice for NSA. Communication is the key to success. Keeping people informed will not always make them happy, but at least they won't be surprised AND unhappy. JMHO.

Wow, that is unbelievable. I just can't comprehend it. 6 teams/double elimination could easily be completed in two days. But that would be $5 less per spectator for Friday. Lol. Oh, and one less night in a hotel.

Without knowing all of the details, the Friday night starts should be feasible. I believe the complex is a 9 field complex with 5 age group pools of which 3 have A and B brackets and 2 age groups which require completely different dimensions in 10u and 12u. Since there are 10 teams total in 12u and 9 total in 10u, there are 4 fields tied up all weekend which is half the complex. Now throw in 5 fields to run 9 total in 14u, 13 total in 16u, and 11 total in 18u on 5 fields total. And then this is seeded into a double-elim bracket which adds quite a few more game slots on to the weekend.

We had to start the B last weekend with 34 total team on 7 fields on Friday at 5:30 PM and still left the park at 7:45 PM on Sunday. This weekend has 52 teams on 9 fields.
