Recently at tournament I noticed a batter with an old easton stealth, after the inning I said to umpire that I don't think that bat meets NSA rules. They looked at bat and had the team not use. Next at bat another girl comes to plate with a CF4 black, again I asked umpire to check as its not legal either. Coaches of team were not happy, complaining along with parents comments of they are complaining cause of loosing, it was a 0-2 game. It's not complaining it's black and white rules. We have some of them old "hot" bats but don't bring to NSA as they are not allowed. I didn't make a scene or get loud about anything. Was I wrong for bringing this up?

I don't think it's ever wrong to ask an umpire to enforce the rules as they are written. Especially with equipment violations, where a team might gain a competitive advantage not intended by the rules, plus there is a safety issue involved.

Don't worry about the other team complaining. People always complain when they don't get their way.

we had the same thing happen to us at an nsa tourney it was an old synergy and brought it up to the ump and he looked at it and said its good it has the nsa stamp and I said no it has the old nsa stamp not the new one. After letting the girl use the bat for half the game he talked to his base ump and came up to me and said you are right I will tell them they can't use it anymore.
