So what ever happen to NSA in Ohio? I was just going thru the NSA tournament section and haven't see any new post since October or November of 2017.

At one time NSA was huge in Ohio, they even hosted events in Columbus that were drawing over 350 teams. I believe it could have been there National.

So what happen, was the rained out Teal Town state tournament the only reason NSA is now nonexistent in Ohio in 2018?

Or was the only reason they were that big in the 1st place was due to the Nationals being held in Columbus, Ohio and once they pulled out of Columbus the teams left NSA as well?

I think it mainly has to do with the people involved as the "leaders" and "faces" of the sanction on the state and/or regional level. I believe the Lasers tourney was an NSA event four or five years ago. Doesn't get much more "big-time" than that. Through the years they always put on decent regional events and one of the ladies from the Akron Racers was heavily involved in promoting NSA events. I believe she has since moved on. Northern States in North Ridgeville always attracted decent competition from teams looking to go to NSA Nationals in Williamsburg/VA Beach. Attended an NSA Nationals there a few years ago. First class event.

Much of it has to do with value for the money and competition. The popularity and the rise of PGF regional events over this same time period I believe hurt the NSA events. We've since seen PGF events take a huge downturn this year. Changes in the "leaders" and "faces" of Ohio PGF leadership. Now we are seeing the rise of USSSA events in Ohio.

A few years ago they mandated that you had to purchase team insurance through NSA if I remember correctly. That turned several people away from NSA.
