NSA Nationals

The SGS Magic team played at the Summit of Softball complex in Chattanooga and I will say it rivals some of the best facilities in the country. We have been to Colorado the past couple of years with the Magic and I didnt think we would top some of the facilities out there but The Summit was as good as it gets.

In the 4th inning of the championship game, the tournament director asked the home plate ump to clear the field due to weather. The crews quickly covered both infields of the 2 championship games (16s and 18s). The rains arrived within 5 minutes and continued for nearly 2 hours. As soon as the rain stopped and the TD gave the all clear the covers were removed and play was resumed immediately following a brief warm-up. I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like this in any other major tournament.

Unfortunately, the rain delay wasnt good to the Magic as they had just rallied from a 4-0 deficit to tie the game as the rains came. They seemed to cool off with the rains and ended up losing 6-5 to a very good Louisiana Chaos team. Congrats to the Magic team on great run.

In my opinion, contrary to what many others have posted here about NSA, this was a very well run event at outstanding facilities. I would not hesitate to recommend this WS to anyone.

If you were at Noblesville High School, then you seen me flying around all day on a golf cart trying to keep up. I really felt for our umpires this week as it never got under 90 any day and was close to 97 on Thursday.

Hope you enjoyed the band practice. ;) We were kidding around saying that the band is not a job, but an adventure as that director worked them hard all week too!

We had a great time out there! Fields were well cared for as were the other facilities, plenty of warm-up room, and very geared toward the girls having a good time. We had 80 teams in 12u. NSA did a good job if you ask me. :)

I took my team to the NSA Nationals in Indy. We all had a great time, fields were awesome and umpires were first class. We also played in two NSA tournaments in Lancaster. These were also very well ran.

Total opposite of what happened a few years back at Tealtown.

Yes we were at Noblesville and I did see you! I saw that golf cart scooting around all day. :)
It was a scorcher all week, it didn't let up at all. I felt bad for those umps, it was HOT!!!
The band was out there all day, all week!! They don't mess around, that's for sure. It was kind of a neat background noise to play ball while the band is blazing away. :)
Great job on the tournament, ALL our girls had a great time and it was very well run. We even got to keep our 2 homerun balls, which our girls really appreciated! Awesome job!

Glad they had a great time. Our umps were trying to get home run balls back to give to the girls if circumstance permitted.

I seen one 12u team from the Detroit metro area's shortstop hit a shot to left center on diamond 2 that short-hopped the first baseline fence on diamond 3. That ball had to be hit close to 225-245' in the air. I was talking to the coach between games and he said she might have 4-5 of them during that week.

There are some serious beasts out there!! We've had 6 girls on our team hit homers this year, some of them have 3-4 each. We had 2 this week at Nationals....one was a game winning grand slam!! It's amazing how strong these 12 year old girls are, they can sure smack the ball at young ages!! It's fun to watch. :)
