maybe Mike Craig can explain this one ? surely there has to extenuating circumstances .... mens softball have the fields scheduled ? rain ? lightning ?

At Eastern Nationals all games on Sunday went to one hour timit limit or 5 innings whichever was completed first. The email said ALL... but I hope that did not mean the championship game too... unfortunately we did not make it quite that deep on Sunday to find out.

Time limits for a championship game should never happen.

Agree on the "wow" ... and 1 hour time limit or 5 innings whichever comes first actually makes it worse!! So if after 50 minutes and 5 innings a team is winning 1-0 in the finals, it's declared over?!?!

Which Eastern Nationals was this? In Salem for ASA, at least for 16u, every game went the full 7 unless there was a run rule. I'm hoping that weather was the cause for the time limit that you describe.
