I know the World Series is in Chattanooga. I am wondering about States, like ASA States. Have to play in that to secure the berth that a team may get.

I may be wrong but I do not believe NSA has a "state" tournament in fastpitch. I know men's slowpitch does which I played in for years. You receive berths from their tournaments and also a point system is used in youth fastpitch. Again, I may be wrong and someone else can chime in or Mike Craig could help.

Go to Southern Ohio NSA ~ BPA . NSA does have State tournaments for both A & B classifications. I will post details here later. You are correct teams must play on State to go to Nationals or WS.

I guess I should have known that playing in it 2 years ago :) Can accrued points also qualify a team?

Did NSA stop this? Its used to be even if you won a qualifier to get to the world you still had to play states in Ohio. Would be nice if they finally changed it.

These are the tentative state tournament dates for 2013 NSA:

North A/B States - June 28-30 - N.Ridgeville
B Central States - June 28-30 - Lancaster
A/B Southern States - July 5-7 - Cincinnati

I spoke to John Deluca here at the NSA convention this evening and he has not placed the Northern states yet. June 28-30 has to be confirmed by the LGSA, but is looking pretty solid. Cincinnati is at the renovated River City Sports Complex (old Riverstar). We just are working on details for a couple of overflow locations to go to since they converted one of the fields into a volleyball court.

Tim I wish they had changed the bylaw about the state, but they won't. I figured the best way is to offer a couple of different state tournament dates like Indiana and Kentucky does. This way teams have an option of playing on a couple of different weekends to meet the requirement.

Mike its an old argument. Do you see numbers falling off from years past? At one time NSA was one step behind ASA in Ohio.

Tim it is starting to come back somewhat. Numbers have been steadily going up each year that I have had the state director title. They may round off with 3 dates being offered.

NSA is probably never going to change that by-law requiring state tournament to advance. So if your given lemons, you make lemonade! By offering a couple of additional or alternative dates, hopefully we are making lots of lemonade!! :)
