Nutrition for softball and baseball

I know a few of you on here, like me, are LinkedIn acquaintances of Courtney Hudson. I have been for a couple of years now, and have talked with her several times over the years. Courtney was a pitcher for D2 perennial powerhouse University of Alabama-Huntsville, and has a BS is Bio-Chemical Engineering from there. Courtney now co-owns a business specializing in sports training and nutrition, while also being a pitching coach and travel coach in Alabama. Anyhow, Courtney recently published an e-book re: nutrition for baseball and softball, and asked if I would pass on to some of my friends a link to where the book can be purchased online so here it is ... XT Nutrition for Baseball and Softball

Courtney did send me a soft copy of it ... it's just 16 pages long, easy to read, and I think it's fairly clever as to her approach and presentation of the subject. She breaks down a recommended regimen based on the type of player (i.e., infielders, outfielders, pitchers and catchers), and classifies foods based on their values (i.e., outs, singles, home runs, etc.), while also recommending a meal plan. It's not something that less than serious softball players will be interested in, but I think that some serious ones will be able to relate to it well.

Anyhow, just passing this on for Courtney. She's actually on her way to New Jersey to do a camp that the Cheetah's are hosting featuring Cat Osterman.

Our problem isn't knowing what to feed her, it is getting her to eat it!! It is so difficult because she hates meat (chicken, turkey, pork and burgers) and all fish/seafood. All she likes is bacon and filet. She also dislikes peanut butter and beans (other proteins).
We can tell her time and time again why she needs to eat lean meat and protein yet at age 12 it is still a battle to get her to eat what we give her and eat enough of it so she doesn't say she's hungry an hour after she eats. I'm hoping that she will get to the point very soon where she realizes that while she may not like the food, she will eat it because she wants to do whatever she can to take her playing to the next level.
