I think Whiteford has been a juggernaut since the Leigh Ross days back in the mid to late 80's.

some incite to Mi Whiteford finished 3rd behind sand Creek and Summerfield.. Summerfield was ranked 4th in the state and Sand Creek 9th in the state. Monroe smsc finished in the top 4 in the state t-ment as Tecumseh won the state title, after being in the final 4 for the past 3 years. blissfield is another school that has some very good talent as many of there players play for the Irish. Clinton maybe a team to watch as they have been ranked in the top 3 as well. SE Mich has some solid teams

Fostoria had 15 wins last year finished 2nd in NOL and lost only their third baseman to graduation. Aja Hall who played for the Magic has decided to play softball instead of running track. She will bring speed and power to the line up. Keri Seel returns for her junior year 64 k's from the school record. (last season she had two no-hitters, perfect game and a 20k game, averaged 12.5 per game)) she will play for Ryan DeMars and the Magic next summer. Senior Stephie Loomis will anchor the infield at shortstop and add to her school record for stolen bases. Lynlee Myers will move to third and bring a ton of power to the plate and bat for average. They open with Genoa and Elmwood so we should know how strong they will be early. Bellevue returns a veteran team that won the NOL led by catcher Bessie Artino and junior pitcher Katie Yantz. Will get speed and power from the Drennens.Should be a fun year to watch in the NOL.

kdog,...Thanks for the report from the NOL. I've known AJa for several years and I heard she was considering softball but wasn't sure if that was going to happen. That's a nice pick up for Fostoria. You also make avery good point about the start of their season. Does everybody play each other twice in that league?

Good info Kdog, Aja is a PLAYA as my homeys say lol, my favorite thing she does is the right handed bunt right back to the pitcher that she beats out, either that or her 250's bombs she hits lol, that girl is an offensive weapon, probably the best at her age for combination of speed and power in our area.

Upper Sandusky finished third last season in the NOL and returns their starting pitcher Chelsea Jury. They also added Rebecca Gamby ,catcher from Marion Elgin who signed a letter of intent to play at Marshall. And they have a very strong freshman class who must step up to replace the seven seniors they lost. And Keith Diebler is the new head coach and will be assisted by Coach Levy.

Willard lost several excellent players but had a good freshman class and several got playing time.

Norwalk returns almost everyone but they still will be young. They should build on their winning record from last year. The Patusky girl is a fine hitter and her pitching will improve.

Shelby will be down a little but always finds someone with a big bat and they are well coached.

Galion was young also last year but their new coach is doing some positive things and getting people interested in playing so that is a big plus for them.

Tiffin should improve just because of numbers and their freshman pitcher Bogard will improve. She has the talent to be a good one but like every pitcher she will need some help!

Should be interesting for sure!

kdog,

Bellevue is on a 3 year winning streak in the NOL, who do you give the best shot to stop the streak, or will it continue??

Fostoria if they can find a shortstop and if Aja Hall does play she has wavered lately because of problems with a couple seniors on the basketball team that also play softball.

kdog - Pretty good summarization of the NOL this coming year. Did I hear the Loomis girl messed up her knee? Unfortunate. I think, especially if Hall plays, Fostoria has the best shot of knocking Bellevue from the top. Upper would be next but, as you said, will be counting on some freshman. Upper did do very well in the Mansfield 18U summer league this past season. Of course with Diebler coaching, you would wonder if he can ratchet down the intensity so as to not demoralize their freshman. Bellevue lost very little and will be very good.

Willard's challenge will be replacing the 2-4 hitters in the lineup that wasn't hugely potent last year. Nici Fluharty is the only returning all-NOL player out of the 5 returning letter (only one senior, one junior, three sophs.) winners. The coach will also have to figure out what she will do with two sophomore and one freshman pitchers. Obviously you don't need/want three pitchers but she may need them all on varsity for the athleticism - especially the freshman (Fried).
