Ohio Attack is a true non-profit organization looking to continue building the organization. We are pleased to announce that our strength and conditioning coach is Mr. Enhance U- Tramain Hall, personal trainer of many local athletes who have achieved their goals to reach both college and pro levels. We are holding tryouts for 10U-18U on August 6th/7th, and 13th/14th at Duke Fields in Troy, OH. 1670 Troy-Sidney Rd.
Times for all four days are: 14U-18U from 12-2 (registration and warm up from 12-12:30) with pitchers and catchers being evaluated from 2-4. 10U-12U from 2-4 (registration and warm up from 2-2:30).
Please bring all necessary equipment and plenty of water. If you would like a private tryout or have any questions, please contact Phil Smith at 937-776-5857. If you would like to coach our 10U program, please call for information. All coaches must be approved by our board.

??? Ohio Attack in NE Ohio has been around for many years, and will have a 12u, 14u and 18u in 2017. Might want to find a new name.

We investigated the name through the proper state channels, and we have permission to use this name.

We've been Ohio Attack for the entire season. We wanted to make sure that the name was OK to use before we began the 501 C 3 process. All the steps we have taken so far with the state has shown that the name was not registered.

Maybe Ohio Attack from NE Ohio just didn't fill out papers to have a 501 C3. Wouldn't this be confusing for players with two different organizations with the same name?

It doesn't have to be confusing. We are in Troy, Ohio and those girls trying out will know who we are. To be honest, its a little more involved than filling out papers. Becoming a non -profit is a series of steps to follow that involves attorneys & accountants. One of the first steps is to register with the state and a name search is performed and if it is not taken, then you can apply under that name. The NE Attack states it is a non profit on their website and may get their status being "under the umbrella" of a non profit- many organizations operate that way. There are so many benefits to having that non-profit status.

It is unfortunate that this happened and may serve as a great learning tool for those organizations that operate under another organization's status.
