The Ohio Edge 14u will be holding tryouts Saturday August 13th and August 20th at Community Park, 691 East Dayton Yellow Springs Road, Fairborn, OH. Registration begins at 11:15am and tryouts go from 11:45am - 1:15pm.
We will consider all spots currently, this past year we were mostly an '02 birth year team with 4 players moving up to 16U this coming season. This season we plan to get as many games in as possible including fall league and tournaments along with a summer league and 7-8 tournaments with 1 tournament being out of state.
We will focus on fundamentals with as much practice as possible throughout the season, we will truly work on skills until each player is confident in every situation and cannot get it wrong. My main focus is to establish a core group that plays with The Edge Organization through their travel career and eventually plays at a collegiate level. Every player must maintain a 3.2 GPA; after all players are called student athletes, (student is always first).
Every player will be scored on their abilities in the field, but every Edge coach will be watching to see the key factors: Hustle/Attitude/Work Ethic. Everyone makes mistakes, it is what you do after a mistake that makes a world of difference.
