Looking for an impact player with either speed or big bat - we play strong defense - it is a must. One of our two catchers left to play for a local team that did not travel like we do, we would be looking for someone that can catch as well as play 3rd, 1st or OF.

Would consider an outfielder who can run the ball down, has a strong arm and can make plays in CF

So you are looking for a 3rd or 1st baseman? What city are you out of?

we have not filled any spots at this time. We are looking for mature, athletic ball players to help us for coming year..

I have known this other catcher for many years now. We have played against them several times. Are you sure that is why she quit your team? I am pretty sure it didn't have anything to do with playing for a team that doesn't travel as much.

You want to call me out, put your name on your account and the post and / or call me personally and I will tell you why she quit.

She is a great kid that I coached since she was 8, she had a role on our team that she was not happy with so she decided to move on, no hard feelings from me or the team. It happens all the time in travel ball. In fact her new coach called me two weeks before and asked if she could come play with him, I told him if it was in her best interest and what she wanted to do then be all means. He coaches the MC Bulldogs, give him a call to verify.

Great week at ASA A Nationals in Salem. We went 3-3, losing 3 games by a total of 4 runs. We had 5 girls asked to college visits to talk offers.. Going to be a great fall...

This was brought to my attention today by a very good friend of mine, and although I appreciate someone coming to my daughter's defense. I want to say that there are no hard feelings towards Doug or The Ohio Hawks Organization. My daughter had just decided that The MC Bulldogs and Coach Jay would give her more opportunities to follow her dreams and play college softball. If anyone has any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.

Heard Jays team folded last year. Why didn't he stick with the Hawks? Hope it works out for you. Heard it did not for many good players last year :( was looking that way for my dd's but dug into it a little more. Good luck with that one.

I am sure you heard only one side of the story as well. What Jay did last year was what he thought was the best for his team at the time. Jay is an amazing coach and I have known him for years. He is forming another amazing team and we couldn't be more proud of him. He truly loves each one of these girls like his own and only wants the best for all of them. I am sure he would openly answer any questions you have. If you would like send me an email and I would be happy to give you his number. My email is above.
But hey let's get off Doug's thread. This is about his team and tryouts. :D
