The Ohio Ice Black '00 had planned on playing the 2013 tournament schedule with just a ten player roster. However, managing multi-sport athletes, injuries and other logistics has made us rethink this strategy and thus, we are looking to add another player to our roster (to bring our total to 11 players).

We are looking for a talented and athletic 12U player that can play one or all of these positions middle infield, outfield or backup catcher. This player will immediately be thrown in the mix, and not simply be a bench or role player. Our group of girls are very dedicated and really get along well, so it is a great environment for a player who wants to work together to get to the next level.

This summer, we are playing an aggressive ASA/USA schedule and showcases, including GAPPS, Stingrays, Lase Nation, ASA States, Penn/Ohio and more. We ultimately plan to qualify and play at ASA/USA nationals. We also have already qualified for NSA A Nationals and the PGF Regionals in Chicago...although we are not sure if we will attend these yet.

For more information or to schedule a tryout, please call the Ohio Ice Black head coach Tony Scibelli at (440) 840-4487.

Just wanted to add a note to Tony's above ... the coaching staff of this team is made up on 3 non-parents ... Tony, myself and my daughter Sarah, who was both a successful pitcher and hitter at the collegiate level. Tony and Sarah are both great technical instructors of the game ... they are excellent at picking up flaws and working with the players to improve them, and doing so in a very constructive and supportive manner. We practice out of the Spano Dome, though we hope to get outside here as soon as the weather breaks, and have several Sunday friendlies scheduled in April before our summer/travel schedule starts up in mid-May. This is going to be a very competitive team playing a schedule that will help make our players better, plus we are going to have a lot of fun. Give us a look!

Still looking for the right fit ... this is probably the best team, not to mention perhaps the most supportive group of parents I've ever coached in my many years of coaching. We've had a 20-5-2 record over the fall and winter, and have played against almost all of the teams considered the best in the state as well as some strong out of state teams like Team Pennsylvania and the Michigan Pride. As Coach Tony notes above, we've been accepted to play in all of the top tourneys in the state, and will be attending either the ASA/USA Nationals in Chattanooga or the PGF Regionals in Chicago. Our coaches aren't "yellers", and are very much focused on how we can help each individual player improve. While we're very competitive, you'll never see that take priority over showing respect for our players, our opponents and the umpires. Feel free to PM me here or call Coach Tony at the number above for more info.

Thanks, ksstorm1! We would forward to seeing you guys bright and early this Saturday. I was going to send a note to our girls to get to bed around 7PM on Friday night to make sure they are ready to face your team that early the next morning!

I agree with the posts above. This team is heading in the right direction. They have a very talented team and push each other to be the best player/ teammate they can be. The parents support the coaching staff in all aspects of the game. All three coaches are non parent coaches and have been around the game for many years. Good luck Tony, Jeff and Sarah. Hope to see you at the fields this summer.

Thanks, Andrew ... we appreciate your endorsement! It was great to see you guys a few weeks back when Ashe subbed for us at the G-Plex. We need to figure out a way to move you guys closer to Northeast Ohio, though that would be a tough sell today with all of the snow here! Good luck to you guys with the Heat ... I am sure we will see you a few times on Sundays this summer!

Still looking for an 11th ... would consider either an '00 or an '01, as long as they are talented! This is a strong team, but looking for that missing piece.

Our immediate need is for a catcher. The player we pick up will get significant catching time immediately! This is a great opportunity to get lots of catching time!

My dd Erika has been on this team for 2 yrs and i cannot say enough about our team. We have great coaches that do not have dd's on the team, and they are so good with the girls! My dd has learned so much in the last 2 yrs. I like that we play a very tough schedule too including gapps, lasers, and stingrays. We have very nice and talented girls that treat each other as sisters, and the parents are wonderful. This is more like a family then a team  I know that any girl who came to our team would be very happy. GO ICE!!!!!! :yahoo:

Due to an injury, we could be looking at adding two players ... and one catcher is a must. This is a very strong team, where any new players are going to get excellent coaching, an opportunity to play one of the top schedules in the state, and a lot of playing time.
