Indoor Tournament Ohio Ice - Silver Round Robin Scrimmage

Ohio Ice – Silver 14U
Round-robin scrimmage on Saturday, January 31st.
Games will be held in the Spano Dome starting at 8 AM and finishing around 10:30 PM.
Age Group - 14U (will open to 16U if not enough 14U teams respond by January 17th)
Number of Teams - 12
Total Games - 3
Game Time – 80 minutes
One Umpire per field.
Cost: $190

Format: Three blocks of four teams. Each team will play three games back-to-back with ten minutes between games. There will be 30 minutes between the start of each new block of games for the teams to have warm-up time on the field before their first game.

Block 1: Games 8 AM, 9:30 AM, 11 AM
Block 2: Games 1 PM, 2:30 PM, 4 PM
Block 3: Games 6 PM, 7:30 PM, 9 PM

We will accept up to 12 teams.

I have friends with dds on Heat 94 and they are 2-0 so far with wins over Ice-Silver and the Maddogs. Hope Heat 95 can carry the torch this afternoon.

Heat 95 went 2-0-1 with a tie against Valley Extreme.

Buckeye Heat 94s went 2-1 with a win against the Ice and Maddogs and a lost to MC Madness. We shot ourself in the foot too many times against a good MC team. Nice pitcher.

Ashland Blaze went 2-1 beating a tough Valley Extreme team and the Barracudas with a tough loss to Buckeye Heat 95.Girls had alot of fun playing some strong comp.

Does anyone know all of the results from yesterday? It was a great day to play some ball.

In the late games: (depending on if you revert back to the last comleted inning or drop dead time score) at drop dead time we would have been 1-2. Losing to Summit Rage 6-1, then beating Faultless 4-3 then losing to Elyria 8-1. At the last competed inning we were 0-1-2. We would have tied the rage 1-1 and tied Faultless 3-3. Still losing to Elyria 8-1. We played some great games and some great teams.
I was impressed how we played against these teams. We still have a lot of work to do, but my young team showed that we can play with these older more experienced teams.. I cant wait till summer ball!!!!!!!

Also a little scouting tip... If you face Elyria.. they hit!!.....HARD... They beat us 8-1.. and the nets probably took away 3 legitimate home runs!!!!

If anyone knows the other scores for the late block, I would like to see these scores also..

I would like to thank the Ice for putting this on. We had an awesome time. This was our first time to Spano and our teams first indoor experience. I thought the dome was great and although we had a long drive, I would definatley do it again.. Thanks again guys.

Thank you to all of the teams that participated. A special THANKS to all of the parents for supporting their children, teams and coaches. From the feedback I received, my goal was achieved; providing teams the opportunity to play some ball in the middle of winter, coaches having the chance to view and work with their players and an enjoyable day of softball.

Thank you Ice for the invitation. We had a great time. Playing 3 back to back really helps the players relax.

A HUGE thank you from the Buckeye Heat organization. I hope people realize that the Ohio Ice didn't need this tournament for itself, as they practice regularly in the Spano Dome and play in the Spano Dome leagues. And given the reasonable entry fee for the tournament, this clearly wasn't undertaken as a money-maker for the Ice. I know as the weekend came upon you with all the hassles that a TD has to experience, you must have wondered whether you were in your right mind when you decided to undertake the project. PLEASE PLEASE understand that the members of the fastpitch community who benefitted from your efforts are extremely grateful. Phrased differently, if you decide to do this again, we will be there.

Bill GREAT JOB!! well worth the drive there and we had great teams to play. I also want to thank those who jumped in when we needed a fill in player. Everyone there was friendly and would like to see this again. I know our girls that missed out on going will be begging to go the next time if you have it.
