The Ohio Sapphires 15u based in NE OH will be holding our 2nd tryout date on:


Saturday August 15[SUP]th[/SUP]

[SUP]Location: [/SUP][SUP]Cascade Valley Park Field #2 in Akron 1199 N Cuyahoga St Akron, OH 44313 (directly across street from Valley View Golf Course)

[/SUP]15u: from 10:30-12:30am*please arrive 30 minutes early for paperwork and warm-ups* (Looking for 3-4 girls positions open SS, C and Pitching)[SUP]

****(Rain Date will be Sunday Aug 16[SUP]th[/SUP] from 10am-12:30pm at Hudson HS Varsity 2500 Hudson Aurora Rd Hudson 44236 (Enter next to baseball fields follow gravel road past football fields back to softball field).

Thanks to all that came out Sunday. We had a great turnout for the 13s and some real strong 14s show up.

The 13s will have the next tryout this Wed 13s (2002's only)from 6pm to 8:30 in Solon during our normal practice time

15U: This team will be led again by Coach David Donaldson who has several years of head coaching experience at the travel level including the past 5-seasons with the Ohio Sapphires and previously 2yrs with the Ohio Ice. The 2000's are coming off of another successful season at 14u, placing runner-up at a 16u tournament and recently placing in the top 6 at Gapps College Showcase against high quality teams. We have even higher expectations for next year when we move up to 16u. We are returning a strong group of talented softball players and are looking for a few more exceptional girls who are willing to work hard to compete against top level teams. We plan to play mostly a showcase schedule this upcoming season. All positions are open as we believe your position is earned not given with a strong need for additional pitching. We will again be using the Spano Dome for indoor winter activities and plan to continue working with Bob Hoiles again this season on hitting/Kobata defensive work.

In case some of your teams are interested in playing some friendlies in the fall;
Valley Extreme Girls Fast pitch will be having Fall Friendlies for 2016 playing age

Games will have umpires, on the following Sundays: 9/13, 9/20, 9/7, 10/11, 10/18, and 10/25

There is a post here on TSZ for this where you can sign up, in the Fall and League Play Forum.

Will have age groups: 10u, 12U, 14U, and HS age. All games will be played at: Candlelight Knolls in Warren, OH

Thank you all for interest in the 13U team. We are done with open tryouts and will not be holding them this weekend. We have a couple of offers out and will only entertain private tryouts or attending a practice as needed.

We were very pleased with the level of talent that showed up this year. Great for the sport in Ohio..
