The Ohio Sapphires 06 will be holding a open workout this Saturday 8/13 from 10am-12:30pm, for anyone interested in trying out. We are looking to add any of the following positions: 3B, C , or leadoff hitter/slapper to an already solid group of young ladies.
OPEN WORKOUT LOCATION: Solon HS Varsity Softball field located next to Roxbury Elementary school 6795 Solon Blvd. Solon, OH 44139

Team Info: We will be a 2nd year 16u team this upcoming season after a successful year and will have all non-parent coaches who have over 15-years each of travel softball coaching experience or were former players. Head Coach David Donaldson, has coached with Ohio Ice and now Ohio Sapphires for past 10-years. Assistant Coaches Harry Marko previously coached with the Lasers and is returning for second season with the Sapphires, Charlie Springer from the Stark County coached with multiple teams and is entering his his third season, Heather Donaldson a former travel ball pitcher from 10u -18u/taught by Dave Leffew is our pitching coach.
Our focus is on development of skills, mental training, college exposure for our players, and teaching life lessons through hard work, accountability, teamwork and helping others. This past season, we played 2-fall tournaments, 2-fall showcases/team camps, and 7-summer tournaments which included Sheer Madness, Explosive and Buckeye Recruit fest showcases. Next season, we will continue to add to the showcase part of the schedule with Lasers, Sheer Madness, Buckeye Recruit fest, D1, Premier or something similar, along with a possible summer nationals. We have access to indoor facilities for winter training.
