University of Tennessee pitcher Erin Gabriel pitched a gem yesterday beating Florida 2-1 in an SEC Semi Final, moving the volunteers into the SEC Championship game vs Auburn tonight at 8:00pm. Erin pitched 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 3 hits and 2 walks. She also recorded double digit K's with 10!
On a side note, Erin out dueled Florida Ace Lauren Haeger who lost for the first time this year.. Haeger's record falls to 24-1 on the season and was the only Division 1 pitcher to enter the Day undefeated.
On the season Gabriel (Poland, Ohio/Valley Extreme) is 15-6 with a 2.94 ERA in 114 innings pitched. She has given up 35 walks while recording 127 K's on the season. Earlier in the week, Erin was also named to the SEC Community Service Team for her community service throughout the past year!
