OMSAA Regional and State Softball Tournament

***Middle School and Middle School Club Softball Coaches****

There is a Middle School Regional / State Softball Tournament being played this year. Mt. Gilead Lady Indians Club Softball will be hosting the Div III Central Region Regional Tournament on May 22 with a rain out date of May 23.

Only 8 teams were Div / Region please go to http://www.middleschoolsports.org to pre register for the chance to make a trip to Dayton Ohio for the State Tournament.

We need at least 7 Div III 3 teams... Div III /Central Region Tournament will be played at the Mt. Gilead Middle School / Mt. Gilead Recreation Park. Coach Brent Staley will be the TD. Fields and parking very close, concessions, and 2 umpires per game. 2 GG. With top 2 teams advancing to State Tournament.

Travel Ball or teams with players from different schools must play up a Division. Any questions go to the above website. If interested, drop me a note and I will forward you more info.

Is this OHSAA approved and if so are these games allowed in excess of the "17 games plus tourney" that are permitted.

Meaning, if a team is already playing 17 games plus a league tourney would they be in violation of the OSHAA rule?

As far as OHSAA Arroved... I would suggest going to the Webiste and if the answer is not there... send an email to the Director...


*While the regionals are part of the regular season the State Championships are not. The State Championships will be played after June 1

st and all teams will be ​

considered club teams after that point, and the 10 contact days would apply for all coaches.
*If baseball or softball is not a school sponsored sport at the middle school level then they would not fall under any OHSAA restriction

Heath will also be holding a regional tourney. May 15th. Contact me if interested( sorry bout the plug) At our central district highschool meeting it was announced that yes, these two games would have to count towards your season allowed games. Of course if you make it to State, those would not.

Attention all Middle School Club Softball Coaches... Mt. Gilead Middle School will be the Central Region Div III /IV Host of the Middle School Softball Tournament.

There are only 8 teams, in the Tournament we have 7 spots open. Tournament will be on Sat May 22, 2010, with a rain out date of May 23, 2010. It is a 2 GG, with the top two teams advancing to the State Tournament on June 5, 6.

We will be playing on Fields A and B at the corner of Cherry St and Park Ave in Mt. Gilead, Ohio 43338.
