Playing in Orville next summer and I am curious of the better places to stay not far from fields. 30 minute drive tops.

We stayed in Wooster the 2 times we played Orville. Only about a 20 minute drive.

Wooster is the only place within 30 minutes of Orrville that has hotels.

Head up 57 to Wadsworth. Holiday Inn Express. Galaxy restaurant. + Marie's Pizza. You won't regret it!

You have Wooster to the west and there's 4 or 5 hotels, Wadsworth to the north off of I-76, Massillon to the east off of 21 I think. and had Caskey's campsite in Orrville. Now if you play in Smithville like they had teams last year, Wooster is a quick 10 minutes away. The sooner you book, the better off you are.

Now, restaraunts to try..the Barn in Smithville, Hero House in Wooster (subs), Coccia House in Wooster, Dravenstot's in Orrville a walk from the ball fields.

We highly recommend the Hampton Inn in Wooster. Only about 20min from the ball fields and included breakfast! There are some great places to in Orrville to eat downtown Mrs. J's and Jerry's Cafe to name a few.

Having done this tournament last year (14u), I can honestly say it was one of my favorite tournaments. Fields are tended to after every game. Having fields right in the middle of the carnival gives the girls the feeling of playing before a big crowd. I wish we would have done it when we were 13u so we could have gotten to attend twice.

We stayed in Wooster. Lots of hotels there and an easy drive.

We stayed in 2011 at the Best Western Wooster Plaza (243 E. Liberty St. Wooster, Ohio 44691) 330-264-7750

It was not luxurious, but clean and got a good rate...across the street from a Speedway which was convenient for ice, snacks, etc. We really liked it because of it's location in Wooster...right in downtown, so we could walk to the Rubbermaid Outlet store, other shops in town, restaurants (ate in one that used to be a Fire Station, cannot remember the name of it but very good food) and ice cream.
Annette was the group coordinator at that time, very helpful, we got this for our team: 2 double beds in the room, Can get fridge/microwave combo for $5 per day extra, Outdoor pool , fitness room, Free wireless in each room and lobby, Does have guest computer/”media center” if needed to print or send anything, Irons and ironing boards, Passed the bedbug registry, Includes free deluxe continental breakfast with waffle makers, biscuits and gravy, usually an egg product, bagels and muffins, fruit, oatmeal packets, cold cereals, coffee, tea, milk and juices…No charge for parking, Hotel is approximately 12 miles/17 minutes to the fields in Orrville.

Good luck!

We stayed at the Hampton Inn twice. Very nice people and a decent night's sleep.

I cannot rate The Barn (about 10 minutes away going towards Wooster) high enough. It was delicious. I have driven 45 minutes out of my way to eat there now anytime I am even remotely close.

There's Evergreen RV Park just South of Orrville (20min). They rent cabins for same rate you'd pay for a hotel room. There's a game room & pool. Very nice & secluded.
