OSU softball admission?

I was at OSU's ticket office today and asked what the word was on admission for the softball games this season. I was told that at this point there is no plan or official word on there being charged admission this season but that it could change by the time home games begin.

I sent an email today asking them about that. Haven't gotten a response yet.

I can tell you why you didn't get your response yet. The ticket office was closed during their normal hours due to the weather today. They only opened just prior to the basketball game.

Kind of surprising that they're rebuilding their stadium. The "old" one wasn't very old and was a nice facility. I guess that now it will be even nicer!

In the past, there was never any admission charged for OSU softball games. It was always "first come, first served" seating and you could just walk right in and sit wherever you wanted.

We should pick a game date and declare it as OFC day at the ballpark!

The one thing about the new facillity is it doesn't look to have much if any more capacity than the old one. If OSU wants the program to gain prominance and support then seating capacity should have been increased much more even if they don't count on it being filled for awhile. Oh well, I guess to some people it's still only lowly softball.

They doubled the seating capacity and the sight lines were changed so you can see the field now. There are many shots on the Softball website for them.

I hear you will have to buy a seat license for $500.00 Ok just seeing if you are paying attention.. :)

But it looks like a very nice project...

It sure didn't look like double looking at it yesterday, at least the section behind the plate. Perhaps it will present a different aspect once completed? Hilliarddad is right that now you should be able to see since they sunk the dugouts which should have been obviously required before they did it the last time.

we was at OSU camp last saturday and Coach said that admission was still free at this point. Not saying that won't change but that was the word from her.

At first glance, the picture of the new stadium on the OSU website doesn't look much bigger. Yet, according to the website, the capacity is more than doubled. They must be including standing room and non-seating areas in the new capacity. It says the old capacity was 800 and the new stadium has 1500 seats. Last time I checked, 1500 was less than 800 doubled!

You can check it out here: http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=17300&KEY=&SPID=10413&SPSID=87771

I can't recall but was there going to be chairback seating in the main grandstand? Last season in the late game against Iowa I didn't bring a blanket and the aluminum bleacher made my you know what go numb from the cold when the temperature plummeted as evening came on! I was surprised they even contined the game as I believe the temp dropped back into the 30's. In those situations I miss the old days when bleachers were WOOD!
