Congratulations to our Ohio Bobcats on winning the 2014 Mid American Conference Tournament Championship and earning an automatic berth to the 64 team NCAA softball tournament. This is the first NCAA berth for OU since 1995 and happened in dramatic fashion all week. 3 OU players also received MAC All Tournament Team recognition. Sophomore Savy Joe Dorsey (Grove City, Oh Central Crossing) went 4-0 and pitched all 34 innings, while giving up only 1 earned run. Savy Joe also threw a perfect game against #1 seed Ball State while also receiving MAC tournament MVP. Senior Alyssa Wolf (Junction City, Oh) hit .400 and made several amazing defensive plays in CF and Junior Dakota Pyles (Grove City, Oh Central Crossing) hit a team leading .538 while playing a solid LF. Two other starters are also from Ohio, Freshmen Casie Hutchinson (Lebanon, Oh) and Freshmen Taylor Saxton (Circleville, Oh Logan Elm). Casie had 2 key RBI singles in the Kent State game and played a solid 3B, while Taylor had several key hits and played an outstanding 2B. The scores for the tournament were as follows, 2-1 over #4 seed Kent State, 3-0 over #1 seed Ball State, 2-0 in 13 innings over #2 seed University of Buffalo and 4-0 over #2 seed U. of Buffalo. The NCAA softball selection show is tonight (Sunday May 11th) at 10:00pm on ESPNU. Congrats again on an outstanding accomplishment and go BOBCATS!!!:):):)

Big congrats to the OU Bobcats and all the Ohio players that made it happen. Lee remember our conversation when you came to the Ville how fast time had passed. Think back to when our kids were 12 or 13 and playing together for the xpress red. who would have thought they would be where they are. Great job Dakota and Kim you guys are gonna have a blast getting to experience what so few have.

And also big congrats on the Lexington Bracket. Nice little drive vs a last minute plane ticket to phoenix. Good luck

Cograts Lee, and to all of the Bobcats players and parents. I was able to catch a few of the games at Firestone but none of the OU matchups (ok, so I was following on my phone during Peyton's graduation this past weekend don't tell her!) Enjoy the ride!

Our Lady Bobcats lost a heartbreaker 2-0 vs the #14/15 ranked University of Kentucky last night. They battled extremely hard throughout the game but came up a little short in the end. The line score was as follows...

Ohio.........0 4 0
Kentucky...2 4 0

Our next game is at 3:30 vs DePaul University. You can go to the Ohio Bobcats softball webpage for story's, video's and box score. The Uk softball webpage has live streaming for the games also. I am so proud of our Lady Bobcats...hope we can pull one out this afternoon!
