Outstanding Exposure Opportunity

Our team has been invited to some very unique national exposure opportunities. We will be competing with the best teams in the country in front of the most respected coaches in the country. For various reasons we are looking to supplement our team with players who have the desire to take part in this outstanding opportunity for elite players. We don't care what grade your in if you have the desire and passion to be seen in front of college coaches. As most of you know many colleges are looking for 7th and 8th graders for their recruiting. This can be a single event or throughout the summer. Doesn't matter where you live.

This seems a little odd to me. Do you mind posting your credentials? Like what org you are with, and what team you are saying is supplementing players in. Anyone should be aware before sending any video's or information to a "unknown" email without verifying credentials first.

Well I certainly can and do appreciate the concerns shown here however the anonymity is for the protection of the inquirer as well as the current team. As most of you know now a days if this was nefarious there is an easy way to track where the post is coming from. This is real and worth it. If you want more info send me an email and I will verify myself. Anonymity is for the interested player as well as our organization and the players. Once you post on a forum you are subject to rumors innuendo and gutter snipping. Anonymity is a two way street. BTW I have received some interest and look forward to speaking with those who have inquired. Thank you.

Brought back a memory.

My dad cussed a lot and he was real loud. He would get mad and string obscene words together like no one you have ever heard before. He was a true master of his craft.

Some guys who worked for him recorded him doing it one time and played it back for him later after he had cooled off.

He was horrified. He said "My god,,,, is that really what I sound like???"

Yep, it's exactly what you sound like.

Gosh, Mike .... good to have you back ... we sure missed your instigating things for the past several months.

Mgildy ... the forum here is educated enough to know that a select few junior high players are recruited and verbally commit each year. But the forum is also educated enough to know that this is pretty rare, and that the number of organizations who can offer that exposure are even more rare. What's much less rare are the number of organizations who promise all kinds of exposure, charge a premium for this promise, and then don't deliver, no matter how well intentioned they might be. The fact is that those few organizations who can offer this are very well known and most have been around a long time ... so forgive the skepticism ... some of us are just trying to protect the innocent and ignorant who might otherwise be taken advantage of, perhaps not by you but by others who do something similar.

Why does it always have to be all or none when this topic gets brought up. 95% of the time verbals ARE honored... that hardly amounts to "nothing." True, in cases like you have mentioned there is a good possibility the verbal will not be honored when a new coach is coming in, but then again there are cases where athletic scholarships are not renewed.... that certainly does not mean they are worthless. Being educated about the process and the potential pitfalls of the athletic scholarship game is extremely important for both parents and athletes who want to participate. Making statements that verbals "mean nothing" is not particularly helpful or accurate.

Thank you for the responses so far. The legitimacy of this opportunity is real as those who have responded know. The snarky comments are exactly why we are choosing to be as discreet as possible. We are very proud that we have been invited to the tourneys we are attending. We are offering opportunities for players who may not have the schedule we have. This doesn't need to be a full time summer commitment it could be a guest opportunity. Of course we realize that if we can incorporate a few outstanding players to our team it will benefit all.
