valley extreme got us again in semi's. very strong 14u team. will definitely be hearing alot from them this year. solid hitting and pitching. great sportsmenship. boy what a game sat. nite. laser's look pretty strong playing up this weekend. hurricanes and valley extreme for championship

Pcba nsa national qualifier- 14U Thanks..Hurricanes Win ..

Bush0478 and all the folks at the Poland Community Baseball Association; the Hurricanes 14 U had a great time at Poland Tourney. Wish we could have brought the 10s and 12s, hope they make it next year.

This was our teams fist trip there at any age and felt the tourney was very well run, the grounds were in very good shape especially given the recent rain, Yes there was the mud puddle in right on Field 3 which one of our girls took a swim in late Saturday... yet overall the Grounds crew took care of fields before every game very nicely. Only issue was moving mound back and forth. A couple of times after an inning were completed. 13/14u Pitchers are even faster at 35 feet! (Also really like the bat and helmet storage in the dugouts more parks should do this, teenagers can be messy)

Competition was great. Good mix of teams with 10 in 14U. Want to thank the players from the Ohio Dynamite, the Magic and of course the Valley extreme for a great competition today, and first class sportsmanship. Hope the Magic player?s knee is Ok; great play at the plate in this game and some bodies got twisted.

Valley Extreme gave us all we could handle in the championship. After some back and forth, Hurricanes were up going into bottom of the 6th, and someone on VE hit the cover off the ball to deep center and way over the fence. Get that girl in front of college coaches now... In any event good thing no one was on base.

Going into the bottom of the 7th, the VE advanced the tying runner to 3rd with one out. Next batter hit to mid center and our girl made a good catch and a better throw to the plate and bang bang... 2 outs and Hurricanes take first.

Want to thank our girls for the tough effort; we played well especially this early in the season. Of course we got some things to work on.

VE we look forward to seeing you again. I am sure you will be motivated to win as you always are. Great group of girls on this team that are well coached.

Our fans and players had a great time at the Tourney. Thank you to our great parrents.

Good Teams this week; We had pretty close games at time, one game in pool play was the worst officiating games I have ever experienced. The mound was set at 35 feet and the batters boxes were off real bad. They move the mound back to 40 ft leaving a hole from the 35 foot drag; my pitchers were having a huge problem with it. Umpires had ask to get water and a tamper; a few minutes later one of the young kids working told me that they were going to to nothing for me. They ump behind they plate was awful; He told us he was making the call for the pitch where the ball was being caught not where it was crossing the plate. I have a lefty picher; and if you have a lefty pitcher you know that their fastball tails over the corner. Even in that case the catcher never moved her glove and it was set over there. Needless to say we walked in 6 runs!! I think this guy was a newer ump I have not seen him before. Talking to the ump in the field I know he was in agreement with me but couldn't say. This entire weekend I think my lefty had two walks for all the rest of the games. I know I won't be going back there again. Other than that game we were in all the games only losing by one or two due to an error on our part.

We lost to the Laser 2 -1 and I felt that was a very well played game. Our pitcher had a no hitter going up until the 4th and we had two errors and they capitalized on it like all good teams do. We lost to VE 3 -1. We lost to Hurricanes 6 -1? but beat them last week. We are a new merger team with mostly 7th graders on it, but I am very pleased on were we are headed.

Great job Laser Orange - playing up to 14U. 3 wins and 2 losses - both losses to Valley Extreme, a very good team that should do well this season.

Also - congrats to Ohio Ice - 12U Champions 2 years in a row.

Overall the tourney was ran exceptionally well, we received positive feedback and negitive, what we have learned in the past is that for the most part 90% of the feedback is positive. We had at least 50 positive statements verses two negitive ones. The compliants have to due with teams who lost verses the teams that have won. Also I had an oppurtunity to watch the 10U and 14U championship games and these teams were the best teams in each age group. You never get a compliant from a team who has won. We apoligize for the mound issues of 35 to 40 ft. This is first year we had a large amount of 10U teams. So we had to move more rubbers than in the past. We look forward to seeing you next year; don't worry about negitive feedback for those of you who want to come back next year, we turned away eight other teams.

Well run tournament. Great weather and the games were all on time. The umpires for our games were excellent. We had three different crews throughout the tournament and all three did a great job. Congratulations to the 14U Ohio Hurricanes. Good pitcher's duel in the semi-finals against us with only 5 hits (all singles I believe) in the whole game. Both girls threw hard. Your pitcher pitched a great game with the shut-out. We are definetely coming back to the PCBA Tourney!

I want to thank the PCBA for a great tournament. Other than bases not being on our field for the Sat morning 8am game, everything ran smoothly. The umpires were great. the crew who had 10u on Sunday were solid. It was clear that they enjoyed umpiring the younger girls. That is very refreshing to see. last week we had a Ump. who thought that 10u was beneath him and that he should not have to umpire these games. He had a chip on his shoulder the whole game and he just took the enjoyment right out of the game.
Again, Nice tournament Paul. Thanks! We will see you again next year.

I never complain about a game when I lose (ZEL). In fact I have lost and thought they were some of the best games we have played. The fact that I won or lost the game didn't matter to me. When you have one of the younger boys come down and tell me that you guys are not going to do anything for me ticks me off a bit. That was also an umpires request to fix the hole.

I was not saying we lost due to errors just mention we had two and complimenting your team. The one walk our pitcher had scored and it was due to a over throw on stealing to second and it put her at third. I thought that was a great game; I didn't leave with " i should have do this or that; it was a well played game on both ends. That is the game I do not mind losing; can't say much to the girls becasue they play a pretty good game. Sorry you took it the wrong way. I was sorta going through the game in my head when I was typing away.

First and foremost, we did not tell the younger kids not to fix a hole per your request. If you were told that; that is not true. Second, most of the umpires tell us not to fix the fields every game, as well as lining the fields. If your hole needs filled in the future, I will personally fill it. Every request from every other manager, from scheduling to moving games, as well as fixing holes were granted. This issue is finished; you can call me directly if you wish. rather then sending negative feedback about the community where you live.
