Perry Softball Coach

I remember a thread awhile ago that got removed about Perry's softball coach. Coach Heppe must have been cleared of all charges. According to the Perry Board minutes on October 28 she was reinstated.

Coach Daugherty is a super person, and did good job guiding the program during this crazy time. He was the interim head coach while the investigation was ongoing. The investigation is over. Coach Heppe must have been cleared of all charges because the board voted and she was reinstated "effective immediately".

Perry is my Alma Matter and had laughable baseball/softball programs back in my time. I haven't been near the school in years and don't really follow up. Without details, although obviously has been cleared, what was the investigation/accusation?

I heard the perry coach was accused of bad mouthing a player to a college coach where that kid was looking to be recruited.

Speaking of that, i heard there is another HS coach who is doing the same thing except this parent got confirmation from two separate college coaches that this HS coach was basically telling them the recruit sucked and not to recruit her (HS coach had a personal ax to grind because the kid left the HS coaches travel organization). Guess the parents have a host of e-mails, and tape recorded phone conversations....Guess the feds are looking into it as possible extortion as well.....investigation is ongoing but the ball will drop soon- look out!

Or... the recruit sucked, and the coach was "telling it like it is". The last thing a high school coach needs is to BS a college coach. They'll never be asked anything again.

This is Massillon Perry and not Perry High School in Lake County, Longball. Indeed Perry in Lake County did hire a new coach for the 2015 season.

Whenever a story starts with "I heard", it is no more than a rumor. Unless it directly involves you, that is all it is. So, if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Why do they keep putting Massillon in front of their names? Like Massillon Jackson, Massillon Perry, didn't they use to be just Perry? Just Jackson?

No, the article the said they concluded but they had no proof, it is what they thought happened.

My question would be... If college coach doesn't want the "truth" why ask? Then turn around and tell the players parents? Doesn't this ruin supposed coaches reputation?

Weather they have an axe to grind.. He/she would be putting their reputation on line when giving their opinion.

I think she did win a state championship. Hoover must have had a freak loss for that to happen.

The half a dozen players you are talking about graduated. Last years senior class had talented but where the problems.

Cassie Rohr was an excellent pitcher... Wasn't a fluke. Also had excellent position players.

To differentiate themselves from the other Perry's and Jackson's in the State. The mailing address for these 2 schools is actually Massillon.
