Agree, one of the prettiest and largest facilities we have ever been to. Very well organized event and competition has been pretty good. Only draw back is no temporary fences on the turf fields or at Manoon park (sp?). According to the umps, the fences on the turf fields are 275 and on some spots, 10ft high. Our team has had several girls put balls to the warning track in LF (270) and 250 in CF and nothing to show for it other than a flyout. Most teams are playing their outfield very very deep. My kid hit one 270 yesterday and ump told her it was the farthest hit ball he's seen this week as she runs back to the dugout because it was a fly out.

Place is crazy has to be over a 60 million dollar complex. I was talking to a few locals and they said they will be adding on an indoor facility with 3 more soccer fields inside and a few hotels as well. All of this was built in 2 year. I heard they studied some at Berliner before they drew up the plans.

This is a fabulous place to play. My only negative comment is about the parking set up. Long walks to the far fields, no matter where you park. It's rough on some of the older folks, but at least the areas are not stone or grass. They have a great layout otherwise with impeccable fields with ground crews who line and clean up the fields after each and every game. It will be nice to watch them grow this location even bigger, as it is huge now. The only thing I currently can compare it to is the beautiful complex "Buchannon Fields Complex" down in Bowling Green, Ky, for their grooming of fields.

Being from just outside of Indy and playing (using that loosely) at Grand Park before, I do agree the park is an awesome venue. The major negative, and what you are not getting to see with this awesome weekend we are having, is that the dirt fields (D20-D26 I believe) have very poor drainage. We played there a couple of months ago and was able to complete one game as the rain came both days and they canceled the day on Saturday and the tournament on Sunday. So, if you are going to travel to play there you have to hope for a dry weekend.

Loved Grand Park. A great venue to play games. I would agree with the previous post that they do need to add temporary fencing to accommodate Fastpitch softball. However, and by far my biggest complaint is the fact that the Sweet 16 and final eight round of games were played at Monon elementary school fields instead of at Grand Park. The elementary fields were average at best and should not have been used for any of the games on Sunday.

My thoughts as well!
