Love the joking around,...I really thought we needed a new topic since the count down started 150 days ago. I'm really stunned everybody is going silent on this one.

North,......I'll take winter to the 21st, but spring better not be late,...not a minute.

I can imagine my DD's coach's face if I posted who has looked good so far at our practices. I have been to few to help out, but I think I will leave it to him to post any inside info . LOL. :)

Uber/ Thunder,

I understand that it might not be as locked up as it seems. My sources say that Gill may have to share the role. Correct me if you have heard differently, but it should be interesting none-the-less.

Hey Bubba, you make it sound like sharing a role is a bad thing, compitition at any position makes everybody better. In this case pitchers, I think any H.S. coach would enjoy the luxury of having a few, capable pitchers on a team, it keeps everbody fresh in the long haul, plus keeps your opposition off balance. Are you hinting at players having an ego problem if they aren't "the star". Any coach worth his salt would have that neutralized. :)

There isn't ANY team that has a lock at winning it all in the always tough NLL !! For me , the snow can't melt fast enough to get this season started !!!

Just listing the pitchers and catchers and adding a positive statement doesn't imply intent of use or qualify as inside information other than what is stated. With any successful program you focus on the present with an eye towards the future. It's just nice knowing Becky has some reliable relief behind her allowing the coaching staff to have options.

Agree, Thunder---I can see absolutely no harm in posting names and affirmations.

How could another program possibly use this information against a team? ?Of course, I think it always helps to know what you are up against, but other than general mental preparation, I doubt this intel has anything other than curiosity value for us junkies on OFC, lol. ?;)

Personally, I love to see the names and accomplishments of our girls, and plenty of shout outs/holla's/you-go-girl's being posted. ?

I just wouldn't want to add fuel to the fire. If I named a kid that looked good and that kid thinks she should be on varsity and ends up on JV I would feel bad. I am all for talking about good things kids have done, I just don't want to make Coaches job any more difficult. I have learned the hard way, so I try keep to myself ?when it comes to matters of who is looking good.Sometimes I am not on the same page as coach. ;)

McLovin---you do make a good point ~ there's always how the coach will receive this. ?:-/

I think unless I was part of the staff, I probably would hesitate to post positions at this point, but again---I don't really see any harm in listing potential talent (but then again, I've been labeled as naive before). ?;)

The original post does not state predictions, simply lists names in order of ages. About a billion posts are in regards to ages / years of players. It's easy to know in general the past starters or who we think will start, I'm simply listing all the players for interest sake. I feel fairly certain, OFC is not a part of any serious coach's scouting report or decision making process. I don't think you get to be a head coach by listening to a few nuts rambling on about their teams while their waiting for the season to start. The original post's intention was to simply spark some interest in all pitchers and catchers at different schools. No intention of " Insider Scouting" intended.

Thunder, I get it. We disagree LOL. I will just back and wait for all the other teams to post how they are looking. :)

Wow, I did not know I could "sound" in a written post.

I am not implying or suggesting anything. ?Gill got most or all of the innings last year, and I heard that she will share the innings this year. ?I do not know her, or anything about her on a personal level to know if this is a good or bad situation for her. ?Furthermore, I don't even know if what I heard is correct. ?I was simply throwing out what I heard as a rebuttal to a post that implied she was the definate #1. ?Maybe I misunderstood, that would not be beyond the scope of possibility. ?Lastly, I don't know any of the AW players (I do know a few coaches) to know of any ego situations. ?AW has an excellent program with seemingly good kids. ?That is the extent of my knowledge.

No idea, and too be honest I dont have any vested interest what-so-ever in AW lol. I root for 4 or 5 of their kids to do well, and I also root for a few of Springfield's kids to do well. They are just kids I know personally and happen to think highly of as kids. Gill has been the #1 since her Soph. Year, so I was purely speculating on her being the #1 again. Dani and Emily are fine pitchers and AW would be fine with either of them 2 starting.

I certainly have no vested interest either, but I think it is incredible the amount of talent AW has coming through the ranks. It certainly is a credit to their community support of the sport. I know the system I coach in is struggling to develop talent (particularly pitchers) starting at a young age, and it shows at the HS level. Although we are lucky to have some pitching, we are not deep. That will affect us. I would love to have the options that AW has. I believe Springfield is similar in that their Recreation leagues do a great job in getting the girls participating young. I know that Springfield has a very talented 8th grade class, and I look forward to seeing the impact of that in a few years. As for this year, I will be watching (and coaching against) AW to see how it all shakes out. It will be interesting.

Considering that Gill threw 150 or so innings last year I hope there is enough innings left to keep all those pitchers content.

What a blessing to have so many promising arms:)
How many strikeouts did she (Gill) have? ;) ;)
